Breaking Free from a Mental Jail Cell?!

Question: I found out something that affects me greatly, but I feel trapped by it. I can't stop thinking about it for the past month even though I have somewhat come to terms with it. How can I be free mentally and not think about my situtation permantly? Its in my dreams, I wake up thinking about it, I imagine a horrible future because of it. I just want to move on but its like part of me wont let it go.

Same thing with me. You probably have a little PTSD. I take half mg. of risperdal. Helps me not think about it so much. They've discovered it helps Viet Nam Vets...but only in small doses like this. More than this ..or more than 1 mg. a day will make you not want to do anything. I couldn't beat the dream thing..so now I stay up till 5 AM and wake up at 1PM. For some reason I don't have the nightmares I had when I went to bed earlier. Try taking Omega 3...it helps brain flow and depression. I DO understand how you feel. People keep saying "Just forget about it". lol...If only I could. You need somebody you can talk to about it..so you don't go telling everybody else Right now you keep telling YOURSELF about it over and over. Somebody might have the exact words that will free you from this. That happened to me years ago about something else. The words were "Just because somebody says something...doesn't mean it's true.". For some reason..something "left" me and released me from what had me "in jail". Hope this helped a little at least. So sorry you're going through this. The less sleep you get..the worse it gets. Try Melatonin...it's a hormone that helps some people. You can get it anywhere. Good Luck.

I wish I knew the answer to this situation, used to I could walk away from the things that put me in this situation, but recently there was a situation that came up, most of which is my fault and my way of handling things, but it has to do with family so there is no way to walk away, so I sit here and try not to let it get too me.

nice grin on your avatar there . in my opinion i think you need to see a psychiatrist for an assesment then maybe he/she will refer you on to a psychologist. goodluck
