How can i stop blaming myself for everything?!

Question: i have very low self esteem, i hate myself, and i have depression. and i keep blaming myself for everything, which is not helping my self harm problem. on holiday we got robbed (long story) and i blame myself for it, even though it wasn't my fault. when playing badminton once, i hit the shuttle to my mum, and because it was a bit of a weird shot (not deliberate) my mum hurt her wrist in trying to return it. i blamed myself for that and lost all enthusiasm for playing.

i see myself as the root of most problems. i see myself as the problem. how can i sort this out?

First of all the root cause of all this is your low esteem dear.you need to love yourself and not get upset or angry with your own actions or your own self.Such small thngs like ur mum getting an injury while playing with you was jst an accident.you didnot mean it.so wenever u feel that you have done something wrong and you cannot convince yourself that it aint your fault, then explain yourself that you are a human being and u are bound to make mistakes.every single human does it.trust me.right from bill clinton to britney spears to us individuals.so dont look at yourself with low eyes.be proud of what you are and give loads of love and pamper to yourself.because if you dont do that you cannot expect others to love you.i hope my advice helps you.if it doesnot please seek a counsellor.

My answer? GET MARRIED and / or HAVE CHILDREN!
you will never have to worry about blaming yourself again 'cause THEY will blame you! Report It

Awwhh its ok! I know how you feel. A year ago, I used to blame myself for everything too, this lead to self-harming like you. Then my mum booked me to see a doctor because she was so worried. He helped me alot. He booked me to see a counselour, and in May last year, I began to feel myself again!

Yea i used 2 have the same problem but i just started socializing more and more and those thoughts were completely erased...good luck, u'll need it

    BEST ANSWER

go to your doctor, she/he will priscribe you some pills which will help you think things through on a more rational level.

Things will get better, stop beating yourself up mate.

no one is to blame things happen cos its fate so stop self harming and join your local youthclub and get some friends.inter-acting with others will make you feel better and your self esteem will grow with it

Do more social activities, don't give in because your mum hurt her wrist, that happens in sport.

If you start hiding away your mind starts making things up, like blaming yourself for things, feeling depressed etc ..

Best thing to do is enjoy yourself, it never fails.

You need Jesus because he helped alot of people that went through the same things as you are going through now.

this is part of having depression babes, u should have told me this when u emailed me last night we could have spoke about it last night ,i will email u as soon as i can but any probes u have no matter how small email like you have been doing babes and i will help you the best way i can ,

I was a bit like that when I was younger and I took up jogging after discovering it was something I could do anywhere any time just need a pair of running shoes. I ended up running competitively for 30 years, I am not an Olympian or anything but everytime I went for a run I felt great and got to the point where I joined a club. There is a "happy hormone" which is released during and after regular aerobic excercise and this gets rid of any negative feelings. It may not be the answer you are looking for but give it a go for a couple of months and see how you go but go every day rain hale or shine for 30 min utes even if you walk part of the way initially and do it at the same time every day so that its part of your routine. Get someone to measure a couple of routes for you so that you go out and back ie turn and head home at half way.
This may not get rid of all your feelings of guilt etc but it helps.
    Hope this helps

I really dont know sweetheart, I live with a lot of guilt and blame my own darn self.
about all that we can do is just except that we did something wrong and just move on,
I guess we need to learn to forgive our faults and make due with what we have,
things do happen, and i honestly dont think that you are the root of the problem
    ok so try to smile
your not a bad person,,,,,,,,your just human,
