"Mom. Dad. I have not been feeling right for awhile and I know that you would want me to get help. I have gone to see a counselor. He thinks that I may be depressed."

just say it as you wrote

Just tell them how you feel. Why should you have a problem telling them? If you need help then you should get it. Just tell them that your having some issues & your not sure why but you would like to have something done about it. The longer this goes without help the worse it can get.

From experience... Just tell them... it will be alot easier on them than finding you hanging in the garage someday. Please tell them and please get some help.

If you are seeing a counselor, he/she should have told you how to approach your parents.

However, you can take one or more of these tests and print out and share the results with your parents as a way to get the conversation started. You could also try writing them an email. It seems that having everything laid out in writing is often a good way to get everything off your chest. That way, you don't have to worry about not communicating everything you want to say to your parents.

Good luck!

you did a very good job in the context of your question sit your parents down tell them you would like to talk to them and tell them just what you said above - if you feel you have a problem have your school counselor call them first before you talk to them
