I think I have a sleeping problem.?!


Question: Does anyone have any suggestions for natural ways to fall asleep or get sleepy. I am to afraid to take medicine for sleep. I think I am having this problem due to my Anxiety and Panic. Any advice would be great.

I some times have sleeping problems too
i try to think about nothing at all like in my mind i keep saying nothing nothing nothing...
if you still live with your parents or friends or your gf / bf or wife / husband i have learned that it helps if you sleep in the same room with somebody else, like sleep on a mattress next to he persons bed
and if you take medicine to help you sleep like once or twice a month it doesn't matter.
Also don't drink coffee or Coke before bed
And don't do anything that stresses you of makes you exited before bed ( eg play computer games)
also if you exercise doing the day or work hard you are sometimes too tired to have trouble sleeping
And doing something to relax before bed like watching a DVD or listening to relaxing music that can also help

i cant sleep much either, i jus decided i was nocturnal. but id say take sum kind of sleep aid until you can get into a schedule of goin to sleep

Try exercising during the day. Take a long, brisk walk (between 3 or more miles) everyday, or find a workout DVD to do. Exercise is the best non-medical sleep inducer.

Then make it a habit to go to bed at the same time EVERY night.

If you are not willing to take medicine, you should try with mint tea and valeriana root supplement. Have you tried OTC drugs>?

I have a sleep disorder and the best way for me to fall asleep is exercise. Working out for an hour before bedtime gets me all tired. You have to give yourself an hour after your workout before going to sleep because workouts will increase heart rate but afterwards you should be tired. You can also try foods that cause tiredness such as milk, green tea, turkey, ect.

I think that if you address your anxiety/panic problem, your sleep problem will be solved.

I think the best thing for you to do is to see your family doctor. Your doctor needs to know that you are going through this. Your doctor can help you work on the anxiety and panic attacks. Once you get to know what brings on the anxiety and the panic attacks then you have it made. And a nice hot bath before going to bed can help you relax. Then drink a herbal tea. Read for a while or listen to some nice and soft music and that should do the trick.
