I set myself small positive goals. I make a list of everything I want to do that day, from getting up and taking a shower to cooking, shopping etc etc and give my diary a gold star every time I achieve it. Acknowledging my achievements really helps me a lot and keeps anxiety under control.

well im a teen. i just dont even talk to anyone at school anymore im so depressed and anxious i just get thru the day like a dead person. i used to b upbeat and outgoing now i barely talk and get the day over with and have to do evertyhing perfectly and things make me mad i have to go to the bathroom and cry when that happens

You both need to go and talk to someone about this it can turn into a serious problem if ignored. You need to speak to a trusted trusted person and explain to them that you are depressed and are suffering anxiety problems, with the right therapy and or medication most people live ordinary joyous lives, but you need help and a good support system which means you have to trust people and let them in. Do some research and find a support group locally or on the net but communicate with like minded people that are searching for a positive message to get them through.

You need to go to the doctor and get on some SSRI. It will make you feel better. You cant continue living like that. I was in your shoes about six months ago. The doctor prescribed Zoloft. I was on that for a few months then I started gaining weight so I weaned myself off it. I do feel better than before I took it. If I ever feel like that again, Ill go back to the doctor. Good luck.

Anxiety disorders and deppression and all that crap is all in ur head! you just now have an excuse to make everyones day bad! its of satan!

I tell myself everyday that I CAN NOT let anxiety take over my life. I am such a paranoid person (like if I have to do something ofr a teacher I check it like ten times before I'm satisfied that its good enough) and this really does take a toll on me. I'm also very quiet when not around a certain group of people or when anyone besides them is around, so that makes it all harder. But I think about it like this. "I was dealt a hand of cards in life, so I could either sit around and mope around about it, or I can do my best with what I've got and try to live happily." Just realize that there are people worse off then your are.
Just calm yourself, ignore those anxious or paranoid thoughts and focus on getting through the day.

I take paxil. Whenever i feel out of control or like i am going crazy, i remind myself that i am not and it's just my anxiety.
