while it's possible to overdose on sleeping pills not many people actually die from it.
i was at the point where i wanted to off myself and took about 60 pills, i didn't die or fell a deep & long sleep but, i was hallucinating and suffer from sever dehydration, couldn't walk and kept on black out till next day.
Not worth it. I have done it and more trouble than its worth. You might think it will stop the crap but it just adds to it.

I slept for like 15 hours. I don't recommend it.
I woke up feeling horrible, all the stuff that was swimming in my head was even worse, yet I still wanted to take more pills... It makes you sick to your stomach too, and VERY drowsy, even after 15 hours of sleep.

There are loads of different kinds of sleeping pills. You didn't say which kind.
Don't overdose on anything. All you get is diarrhea and a lingering sense of failure. Everything that makes you want to OD can be worked on if you get the proper treatment.
Does not kill you, most likely. But, can do irreversible damage to your liver.
