Do you Ever Have PARANOID THOUGHTS????!

Question: Do you ever visualize bad things happening to you?

Like seizures?

Or getting in a car accident?

Just ridiculously NEGATIVE thoughts that only dis-empower you...

I want to make it stop...HOW?

Meditation?

Don't fret, we live in a paranoid nation (why else do we have the CIA, spies and an arsenal of nuclear weapons?) and the Bible is a manual of paranoid schizophrenia (Fear god!). As for the things you mentioned they are the result of thinking too much about what might happen to you. Think positive! Think that only good things are going to happen and they usually will. Get a copy of an old book by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, "The Power of Positive Thinking." available in most libraries and from Amazon.com for a low price. Read it, study it and be happy.

Good luck in becoming positive, good mental health, peace and Love!

I do sometimes.. they actually increased over time. I think the older you get the more you realize that life is not a joke.. that your life can end in a few seconds to a few mins of longer. I think its normal. If your having suicidal thoughts.. then you have a problem.Try to focus on other things.. perhaps chores, or things to do for the day or week.. go shopping. That always helps!

i sometimes get the feeling that someone is standing to the side of me and slightly behind me, just outside of my peripheral vision.... and is ready to hit me violently with a metal pipe or some other long hard object like that :(

It's always someone to the left of me too.
Not sure why :(
I've even flinched before and there was no one there.

No. Thinking bad thoughts will cause them to really happen. You are crazy.

I always get the feeling that I am being followed whenever I go out alone, so I can't go anywhere alone or I will over-react and have a panic attack.

I meditate and it helps calm me down but doesn't get rid of them.

If you can't meditate at the moment then calm yourself with breathing excercises. Try and focus on other things then what you think might happen.

Your mind is in your control. Good luck!

Yes, I have that exact same thing, but actually worse to some extent. You can email me about it if you'd like at e_cats@att.net to talk and compare. I asked my counselor about it... she didn't really do anything about it, but that's just her. So yeah, I have that. It's not easy to deal with, that's for sure.

Sure I fear these things myself from time to time. At one point it almost became unbearable..I was afraid of being a victim of a serial killer, ect. I ended up staying inside and getting increasingly depressed.
But the best advice I got ever for dealing with this is:
For a week
-Don't read the newspapers.
-Don't watch the news.
The news media is full of scare tactics to spice their stories up, who wants to read good news? Sadly most people don't.They print what sells.
Stick to this resolution and I can assure you you'll be far less nervous. Please try it for a week, it can't hurt & really helped me.
