Okay how can I deal with anger issues?!

Question: I get angry very easily and very quickly. Little things tick me off. I can feel my blood pummping and I start shaking. I've already hit my brother and gave him a bloody nose. I almost did it again this previous weekend. Talking to the therapist helps a little but I've only gone by myself once. I went twice before (once with just my dad and again with the whole family).

try anger management. or ask yourself why are you angry? is it worth abusing someone? get a hobby you enjoy express yourself in healthy ways exercise paint draw write or keep a journal. eat an apple or go scream. it is weird it does help.

You need to go to more councilling sessions. If prenvention methods that they can teach you don't work for you, and a doctor thinks it is serious there are some medications which can sometimes work but please only consider medication as a last resort. My friend went on meds and after she stopped seeing her doctor and ran out of meds she thought she was ok but now 6-12 months later she's getting bad again... You don't want meds controlling your life...

Try yoga.

Your biggest step is in recognizing that you have a problem > continue seeing your therapist. If you do not already go to church start. The next time you feel this anger coming on ask for a time out. Relax and ask yourself if the anger you feel is justified or not. Be honest with yourself. Ask the person you are becoming angry with to please sit down an discuss the issue with you. Again be honest is the problem trivial, or something you really need to address. I think that doing these things will help you. Good luck and GOD BLESS YOU!!

I'm dealing with this very problem with my 19 year old. She is starting counseling because of anger issues. Going to see a therapist is a big step in the right direction. There is something deep within you that makes you angry. A therapist will be able to find out what it is and help you to deal with it in other ways. Be honest and don't miss any of your appointments. Don't be afraid to open up to them. Good luck to you.
