How long can dissociation last for?!
Question: dissociation can occur with high anxiety states or in the grip of a ptsd attack, i dont think there is a set time when it lasts or fades.
in dissociation a part of you stays connected to reality and the other half splits off, it is thought that it is done to protect yourself- and it is not psychosis because with psychosis, you lose touch with reality all together.
i experience dissociation a lot if iam in the grip of anxiety but i also have ptsd and borderline to.

It can go on forever!!
I have had dissociation that lasted over a week. I really dont know how long they last but I do know this if your having a spell I hope you get out of it soon because I know how miserable those can be.
