How do i convince myself that im happy?!


Question: Hard question i know, but ive been depressed almost all of my life and i dont know why. I'm pretty optimistic, but yet i wish i was dead (and no, i'm not planning on killing myself)

Im not so sure how to make myself better...

You may need to talk to a professional. If you are that depressed, there may be something chemically wrong, that can be helped with medication.


I just remind myself that I have a good life. I have everything I need, and, frankly, plenty that I don't. I am pretty healthy, and I have a healthy family. Good husband, sweet son. I have a roof over my head, and a good job that is fulfilling and makes me enough money to keep the wolf from the door, and then some. What more can you possibly need?

Make a list of all the good things in your life. All the things that if you had taken that other path, you wouldn't have. Write them down, or better yet, print them in a pretty font off your computer, and post them on the mirror in the bathroom. Read them every time you go in there to wash your hands, or whatever. Eventually, you will believe yourself with more conviction.

Good luck. If that doesn't work for you, see your doctor, and ask for a referral to a counselor.

JUST SMILE

see a shrink. prozac should help correct the chemical imbalance, if there is any. otherwise smile. when u smile, even a fake one, the brain gets the signal to be happy.

You have to be optimistic and just take things one step at a time.
Sure, there are so many things that can depress us. We have to find the positive things in our life and work from there.

Think about all the beautiful things life has offered you ( which you were not expecting).
All the happy & great moments shared with your beloved ones or may be with family & friends.....
The smallest good deed done by others for you & smalled good deed done by you for others......
The nature, it has soooooooooo much to offer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Look & admire the beauty of it................
Make it as a package & I am sure you will SMILE.
Laugh on your funny acts & of others, watch some comedy shows or serials......
If you are happy, the world will be happy for you.
BUT if you cry you have to cry alone.

I to wanted to die, then my friends were by my side....
And see here I am because of their stupid HUMOR & their love & AFFECTION........

I think that sometimes too. That the world might be a little less hassle with me in it. BUT! I'm still here, and so are you.

I think you should be happy that you're alive right now because you can still plan your future as you go. Even if you don't fulfill what you want, you can still work to make it how you would like it to be.

Think about what you want most in life, and see how you can attain it. Even if it seems hard now, think about how in the long run if you work hard, it'll pay off. Sometimes it's hard to see the future... but it's suprising, ya?

I sort of think suicide is a pretty stupid way to go myself. But I too like to see all possibilities. Death is scary to me, but I see it as inevitable no matter who you are. No harm in seeing where life would go with or without yourself there.

See how optimistic I am? XD Earlier I was quite distraught... But this is my solution. Think of others and how they feel to see your face. I see you typed here for answers and although being depressed myself, I find joy in trying to relate with others and helping them work through their issues.

I say take whatever healthy measures you can. Those are probably the only good ones. Look toward someone who is distraught and give them a hand. Not only will it make you feel like your life is a little more better, but you're also lending a helping hand!

You can't convince your self that you are happy. You have to feel positive about life or some aspect of your life to be happy. You might be chemically unbalanced that is why you always feel depressed and depressed feelings leads to more depressed feelings a horrible cycle.
There are two ways to this either the medical way if you think its hindering your life or try to find the positive in what is around you and focus on that. Seeing a doctor/therapist and getting on meds is not the complete solution but this will give you a boost while balancing out your emotions leaving you to find other ways of dealing with your emotions.

the world is ugly and we all have good reason to be depressed. BUT.....! the world is mostly pretty and if you give of yourself you will gain happiness. PROVEN!!! PEACE
