How do you people know who you are? How did you find your identity?!

Question: I think i have a major identity problem, but I don't know what it is...
Well this is going to sound kind of pathetic, but ever since 6th grade (and im in 12th grade now), I've moved schools every year to a different school. Well the thing is, every time I moved, I thought I could "create" like an "ideal personality" for myself. So, back then i was really really stupid, so I saw the popular girls that were liked by alot of people and I decided to imitate their personalities. And it worked actually, sometimes, but then I'd "screw-up" and return back to my normal self, which people didn't like as much.
So I trained myself to be like certain people. And I was convinced and am still half-convinced that the real me is someone that no one could like. And since then, I've been chasing these "personalities" for myself, and in the process, losing more and more of me.
And this lead me into severe depression last year. I just began to think that people could be manipulated to easily with

I also had a hard time as a teen 'being myself' -- I think it's more common than you realize, but certainly a bigger problem if it's leading to depression.

Try asking yourself some simple questions, such as: What do I really enjoy in life? What do I look forward to? What do I want in a friendship? How do I want to be treated? What do I see as good or bad behavior? These are just examples, but do take some time with each question, because the answers may not come right away. It may even help to write some of it down. But I think you'll find that you have a gut feeling about some of the answers, and that is you, and your personality and ideals. The key is to carry these ideals into your everyday life -- how you go about your day, how you interact with others, and what your longer-term goals are.

Remember to really bring YOURSELF into your friendships -- and keep your ideals in the background in all your interactions. Keep reminding yourself that you are worth getting to know, and resist that urge to picture how friends want you to act. It will take practice, but you'll feel relief when you find a way to do this consistently. Last of all, be gentle on yourself...many people, not even just teens, struggle with these issues. You definitely have a personality, just take the time to find it.

because you started imitating personalities at such a young age, you never found yourself which people need to do when they grow up..meaning...for an example..you saw a popular girl watching Mean Girls, and so you did it just to fit in, when you never really liked the movie in the first place...if you never confront yourself to find yourself what you really want, or who you really are, you are gonna feel this way. time to take a step back into time and figure out what you really want and stop worrying about teh type of peson you want others to see you as

when something happens and u get that gut feeling inside that u should do this or say that ... thats u.... dont EVER be wat others are... the only wat to find urself is to take a look in the mirror and start talking to it
