Recovering Alcoholics?!

Question: What made you decide to quit drinking and go to AA/rehab? Was it a DUI, loss of job or loved one, health issues? Any stories would be appreciated. Thanks.

I realized i had a problem when i woke up in a cement room with a steel door attached. After that i quit before the courts made me do it, and the Alcohol treatment peoples sent me to AA, i continued to go to AA and not drink for 19 months, since then, i've learned to drink in moderation. My method is not for everyone so please, be careful if you think you have a problem, i don't live by the standards of AA members anymore. Good luck.

Cocaine and pills made me quit the alcohol. They are so much better.

Misery. My life was so horrible I had to find a way to improve things.

my father was an alcoholic, when i was 16 he told me ''Chris, ill die with a bottle in my hand.'' he practically did, very sad. he was a very intelligent man but just wasted his life on booze, i in turn rarely drink and have never really been drunk and proud of it.
