Help! AM I CRAZY? I imagine myself in certain situations...?!

Question: ITS LIKE A LONG DAYDREAM ONLY I AM IN COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE THOUGHTS. THEY LAST FOR HOURS... I MAKE THESE STORIES UP IN MY MIND... SOMTIME SOMTHING ON TV TRIGGERS THE THEME OF THE THOUGHT. I AM ALWAYS IN THE THOUGHTS, AND CERTAIN CELEBS ARE TOO... EXAMPLE:

ILL BE WATCHING TV AND LETS SAY ON MTV'S "THE REAL WORLD" THEY GOT IN A FIGHT AT THE CLUB....

THE NEST TIME I LISTEN TO MUSIC, OR IF I AM JUST SOMWHARE QUIET... I MAKE UP THIS REALISTIC STORY IN MY HEAD THAT ME AND BEYONCE' OR KEISHA COLE WERE NEST FRIENDS.. WE WENT TO A CLUB AND GOT IN A FIGHT LOL.. OR SOMTHING LIKE THAT...

IS IT A CONDITION? SHOULD I TRY TO STOP?

OH YEAH, I ALSO DO IT WITH EVENT THAT HAPPEN IN MY LIFE.. ILL PLAY THEM OUT AND CHANGE WHAT OCCURED

THEY LAST FOR HOURS AND I DO IT OFTEN BEFORE I GO TO BED....

AM I CRAZY FOR MAKING THESE THINGS UP?

Maybe you're just the type of person who spends more time in her imagination than dealing with real people and situations. It might be an emotional outlet. Try adding more activities to your life, things you enjoy doing. Spend more time with your friends. When you have to concentrate, like at school or while studying, focus on what you have to do rather than letting your mind wander. It sounds like something is missing in your life and you're using these thoughts to fill the void. Sometimes daydreaming is great because it's a mini vacation from the craziness of life, but don't give yourself too much time to daydream because that's not healthy, and there's probably a lot of other stuff you have to do or could do.

Its called day dreaming..try reading more and watching tv less..

It's normal

try not to type in upper case - people don't like it and it is the equivalent of 'shouting' on the internet

you will get more response if you type normally like everyone else

no its normal lol ... u have wat we love to call imagination... thats not a bad thing at all ... its creativity at its finest... its fun... u know they arent real... so its really no big deal ... i do the similar thing... i put myself (in my head) in bad situations and process ways to get outta it... i look at every thing in the situation and go through it... mine developed from childhood... i was encouraged to be aware of all my surroundings and to be able to get outta them if something bad were to happen... its something i do everyday... if it bothers u simply knock urself outta it and go back to studying or something continue to stop urself and ull gain the control over it back and ull do it only when u really want to ...

No. I do it all the time! I thought I would never meet someone like that. But the thing is with me I do it about dying.

Example:

I was sitting in the car waiting for my momma to come out of the house cause I was about to go to the mall and I was waiting on her. Well it was really dark( 7:00 p.m.)and then I beeped the horn so she would hurry and come out then I got in the drivers seat watching the door waiting. Then I started daydreaming about a man comming in the car, killed me, and my momma came outside cause my head went down on the horn and she started cussing me cause she thought i was doing it on purpose. Then she came to the car and it stopped. haha

it's day dreaming and don't feel weird it's totaly normal. i do it all the time. not kidding. =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]

A lot of people ask this. Look at the mental illnesses listed in the the DSM IV:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSM-IV_Code...

There is nothing which considers excessive daydreaming or fantasy as a mental illness(not even in the dissociative and personality disorders), therefore psychiatrists can not diagnose you with anything or treat you with medication.

It's a problem you'll have to deal with on your own. If it's damaging your life then a therapist may be able to help, but it's a part of your personality and there's not a lot you can do about it.

So don't worry, you're not crazy :)
