First, I hope you realize that you are not the only one. Tons of people suffer from panic attacks. I got them almost every day two years ago for at least three months. They were awful! I honestly felt like I was dying and nothing could save me. My doctor put me on Xanax, just when I needed it, but I hated using a prescription drug.

Sometimes what helped me was concentrating on something good and breathing. I would mentally yell at myself, telling myself to stop the bullsh*t. That actually helped a lot. It helped me to get angry with myself for feeling this way and telling myself to just cut it out and that everything was fine. Another thing that helped as well was an amino acid that comes from green tea leaves called L-Theanine. You can get it in most vitamin stores. It's not addictive and just slowly takes the edge off. For a while you could start taking something like that every day, and then weene yourself off it slowly. Then you'll be able to sense when you need to take it.

I hope you feel better. It's an awful thing to have to go through, but eventually you can learn to control them. Trust me. If I can do it, anyone can.

Relax

Take a few deep breaths, and relax, tell yourself it will be alright, and this will help relieve some of the problems. Also you can get a prescription for anxiety disorder from your doctor you can take when you have these go on to help you.

I get those, but not under those conditions.

There is medicine your doctor can perscribe.
but, really, you will be able to escape.
don't worry about it, there are more things to think about then being trapped somewhere.
talk to a friend, family, or a theripist. they can help you overcome your fear.

you should go do a doctor and figure out some tactics to take the panic attacks away

Concentration is the key to your solution.

Think of being some place that makes you calm and focus on it and you will be better in no time.

Slowly talking yourself out of a panic attack is the first step. Try focusing on something positive and concentrate on your breathing. Things to remember:

- You are not going to die from a panic attack
- Remember that it will pass soon
- Try finding reasons why your fears are irrational and repeat this to yourself when you are having an attack.

Good luck

My 18 year old son suffers with panic attack he has done from the age of 15.at the same time he started the pannick attacks he had other health problems also.my doctor said they were caused through worrying about his other medical issues.are you under any stress or worried about anything if so this will more than likely be the cause of the panic attacks and more you worry about something the worse the symptoms get.i know its easier said than done but try not to worry relax more if the situation seems to be getting worse then you may well benefit from a visit to your doctor. GOOD LUCK TAKE CARE

There are many ways to reduce or stop a panic attack. The fact that you recognize what it is, is a good start. Remember that these feelings are triggered by your fear/flight survival instinct. You have to 'reprogram' your brain's thought process as soon as you feel it coming on. Immediately think and picture in your mind a photo of something that really makes you smile (a sunset, your cat, whatever) and hold that thought until the panic fades away... don't let any negative thoughts intrude on that image until you feel ok again. Another technique is to start counting backwards from 100 by 3 while you try to relax your body.

And don't hesitate to contact your doctor if they become uncontrollable. Sometimes you need medicine to bring the ol' brain back in sync. (Like calling the desktop computer support guys!)

I suffer from panic attacks as well. Over the years I have gotten some good advice.
-Make a list of the things you are afraid are going to happen. Then write out calming things that can off set the fears.

-Slow your breathing down. A good breathing exercises I have learned, four seconds in through your nose, and seven out of your mouth. You breathe deeper, which makes you calmer.

-Plant your feet on the ground and keep them there, it reminds you that you ARE rooted to the ground, and you are okay and safe in your surroundings.

-Use all of your senses to be aware of your surroundings.

Another good tip would be to use lavender oil. You can either let it go into your body, or spray some of the sent around you. At first i thought this was stupid, but it really does work.
This also goes for lemon candles.

I hope this helps. It just takes some time, but you will be okay.
I hope you feel Better.

meds and coping skills
