How do I know if im becoming an addict.?!

Question: Im in my first year of high school. Befour highschool even started (summer) I had gotten drunk for the first time. I understand trying it out but i keep doing it thinking theres something more. So a few weeks ago I smoked weed for the first time, then i did it again thinking theres something more. I get all hyper and have a awesome time. so am i becoming an addict or is it just a teen trying out new stuff. Please dont judge me. I wanna know if this behavior is normal.

Your behavior is normal for a teenager. However, you should know that you will not see that invisible line between recreational drug use and addiction when you cross it. It just happens.

It's totally normal, don't worry. Those things are fun to do from time to time.

It's when you're spending all your money on them and they begin to control your life when you need to get help.

Moderation is the key. Your brain is still developing at your age, so becareful not to over do it.

it could just be the experient all teens go for but not all do. I have never got high or smoked weed which ever way u want to view it but my junior year i did drink at school. I didnt get drunk.... but it wasnt me or the thing for me i can honestly say it wasnt that great for me to become a heavy drinker and i dont see how it can make i life better. I enjoy every moment i have because im not so wasted to not remember it.

No judgement here. But from first hand experience if you keep trying it EXPECTING MORE there may be a problem developing. I would seek advise from someone you trust like your parents if you can. If you can't talk to your parents then there are places you can go or call and talk to someone, maybe your pastor or youth leader if you go to church. I started out drinking a little then smoking pot then cocaine. I am clean now for 15 years and proud of my accomplishments since then. But you need to realise if you are doing these things seeking more out of it and it's not happening then you could spiral downward and keep searching until you are out of control. I don't know you but my prayers are best wishes for your life are with you.

there is no going back now. You might as well start trying heroine before you try oxycodone. It's cheaper!

Take it from an addict. If you're looking for "something more", you're never gonna find it. The first hit of anything seems to offer it, but, in time, that gets old and it's off to find something else to fill that void. Save yourself alot of time and heartache. Stop looking for that which you can't get naturally. Otherwise, you might end up like me, trying to heal an over-abused body.

Yup we've all been there, sooner or later, you know your addicted when it's all you think about. I have faith in ya, go to a doctor if ya want to stop, see what he/she tells ya. Good luck!

just keep control.
it`s normal though.
