What are your thoughts on suicide?!

Question: Suicide.
It's a really strong word to some people like me who have tried it. I have tried killing myself and when I look back to that point and time in my life, I was to bang my head with my hand [like those "you shoulda had a v8" commercials] because I now see how stupid and foolish I was. Some people say "oh yeah it is so stupid" but those people would never know, because they have never felt what it is like to cut yourself to die, or to try to drown yourself. It's not all that easy! Suicide, is never the answer. It's true. But you can't judge a person that has tried it before. Its stupid, and unruly, I don't know. I think that people that haven't tried suicide before can really post an opinion. It's obvious that most people try suicide because they see it as an escape from their problems.
My thoughts: It is not only against my religion to commit suicide-- God gave you life, so only God may take it.
There is always a way out, and a light at the end of a tunnel. Even though it may seem as though it's never ending and long lasting, there will always be an end and light.

there's never a good reason

It's not the answer. Most problems can be worked out, even if it takes a long time (finances, overcoming grief, etc.)

Not an option, I am too stubborn to let something take me over.

You aren't coming back.....that is it. I don't think anything is ever that bad. A person may feel completely horrible, desolate, alone etc, etc...but it won't last. There are happy times ahead. That person can go on to have a family, to travel the world, to make genuine connections with people that make life worth living.

You have to think about the future and not the rut that you are in now. Think of how you can change things.

If you end your life to run away from your problems, in most situations or beliefs you'll still have to deal with them anyways, but now with consequences

That it is without a doubt the most selfish act any human being can commit

Dumb idea. Probably the worst way to think or dieing. Your lifew can't be so bad you weant to kill yourself. Everybody has problems, deal with them.

i find it strange how the suicide victim doesnt have the strength to deal with what made them take their lives in the first place, but have enough strength and, excuse my language, BALLS to kill themselves. its very sad

It is not my place to decide what other people do with their lives. There are consequences for ever action. Individuals have to decide what is acceptable and what is not for themselves.

there are legitimate reasons. when someone undergoes an organ donor related surgery they run the risk of dying. dying for someone is a pretty good reason for suicide. some people who are terminally ill wish to be euthanized rather dying in agony.
so i guess there are some reasons for it.

You know that you are made out of billions of cells? So all of them are functional and essential to the whole body. The ones that are not functional in any way do what? They self-distract or "commit" suicide in order to do no harm to the body. If you imagine yourself as one of these tiny cells and our planet is the body, it may give you some answers. Do you know why are you here?
However, I am hoping that you asked this question because you are writing an article or something else, but not that these any of your own thoughts, right?
Suicide is very egocentric act: person who wants to commit suicide simply wants attention, whether it's a religious believes he is standing for, or personal ( one-sided love). Now, this person totaly forgets about a long way and people who brought him/her to this point. All anger and dissapointment get over the logic and stupid stuff happens. Well, if you are parent, you will understand.
There is one class I took, called Perception on Death through different cultures and it was awsome. These is a book I read, that explains a lot about death and related topics. If you would like me to give you the name, let me know.
That comparison in the beginning was just some of my own thoughts... I am taking biology class, so...

poeple turn to killing themself if they are unhappy
but half of them could have sorted it out i think its descracfull people would want too we shud live life to the full !

I don't think suicide has anything to do with being immoral or selfish. I think it's usually due to mental illness and should be treated as though. It's not "normal" to want to do yourself in, or kill anyone else. I would only hope that more people would see the signs of a person with depression and self-destructive tendencies and get them help before it's too late.

What I know about suicide is from the survivors side. I mean the family of the person who commits this act. We are left to mourn and grieve for years. It affects the people in your school, work, etc. It is so cruel to leave grandparents, parents, siblings and others suffering with this pain that compares to no other. It is a selfish act as the person who does it is only thinking about their own problems. It is our place to be concerned for others and yes, it is okay to judge this act. It is horrible in every way.
There is help for depressed people. All you really have to do is share the fact that you are considering suicide with a trusted pastor, parent, friend or doctor. If you want to be anonymous call a suicide prevention line Call information for the number in your area if you can't find it in the front of your phone book. If you personally are suffering with depression may God grant you peace and help you see that he has a future for you!

never....life should be like river, wherever there is obstacle it finds an alternate path.if depressed take treatment.various stresses can be handled through life style modification.never feel inferior.all on the planet are equal (may not be identical) .remember ther is no man without belly button(umbilicus)...!!

I agree with the person who said that suicide (self-extinction) is a very self-centered thing: when the focus is too much on "self", things almost always go wrong sooner or later!! I would suggest reaching out to people you see who need help of some kind or another - people who might be lonely, frightened of something, or in need of something you can supply. When you shift the focus away from yourself, things almost always start to go more smoothly in life: the pleasure that comes from being able to help someone else, are far more wonderful than most folks imagine - and will help you realize that you ARE important in the world, and that you can be useful in ways you never thought about before!! // Start out small, though: a kind word or gesture when someone needs it, can be more important than a million dollars.

Suicide isn't never a solution to any problems, regardless of how horrible they are. I have lost lots of people in my life to suicide. My cousin's grandfather, two great friends and a teacher. I've seen the damage it can do to the inner workings of a family, the heartache that is left behind and the emptiness that can never be filled again by someone's absense. There is always another avenue to take and there is always another solution. Talking to someone is always the best answer, two heads are always better than one on a problem and in the end, things will work out. Believe me, I've been there- it will always seem like there isn't another way out and that you aren't seeing the light at the end of the tunnel- but it will come. Like everything else in life, it just takes time. Honestly, life gets better, I promise, although, if you read my question, one might wonder if that's really true (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

suicide isnt wrong but it isnt right either... If someone doesnt want to live anymore than they should have a right not 2.... Why would you want to put someone threw the pain of living when they know they are better off somewhere else?
It could be wrong to because suicide isnt the right thing to do either... Your love one doesnt want to see you gone BUT they dont want to see you hurting either, soo whats a person to do?? It depends on that persons life....
