How do you get over feeling like a fraud as a grown up?!

Question: Do you ever feel like you don't feel competent to be dealing with the things you do - like work, raising kids, etc? The responsibilities seem to be more than wisdom to deal with them!
Any insights, commiserations would be welcome.

Hell yes all the time. This whole life of mine has been a scary, weird, wonderful amazing journey so far and I am also questioning if what I do is right. Most often I'm amazed that I got away with it.

A lot of grown ups feel that way. Doing the right thing is hard.

Just become a better one...lol

Yes! Welcome to normality!! x

It is call trial and error, accumulating experience and listening to wisdom from the elders

I think that this is something that everyone experiences in their life. the key is to focus on being a better person everyday and doing the best you can at all times. just by doing that you are setting a better example than most for others as well as kids. the way that you are feeling is normal, you just need to refocus and concentrate on other things.

hi, im 20 years old, so i don't really know what its like to have kids and a steady job but....i just wanted to let you remember that everybody feels that way sometimes, and eventualy, efforts pay off.

I know these feelings too well.
Growing up I was always told I was no good or that I was a mistake or woulf never amount to much . I was given a list of 12 things I'd never do by drs.Top of the list were Graduate, hold a job, leave home ( my parents'), get married, or have my kids my own, as well as drive. I felt angry and upset about this.
However I refused to believe it. I set out to show them all I wasnt what they said I was. That my life held value to it. I have reason and purpose to it. I'ma a miracle not a mistake. As my testimony shows. So I'd always say if it is God's will I'll have them , and be a success.
He allowed me to overcome all those stumbling blocks thrown my way, and even gave me more or listened to my deepest wishes and dream , never spoken out loud.
So when I get to feeling low or worthless or a failure to my kids or life. As people continue to see me that way or label me disabled, ( when I only see myself as living with certain limitations, which everyone has their own). I just review my past and all I've overcome, Then I see where God lifted me out of those doubts and pains. So I hand it all back to Him.
As I only feel this way now, if or when I try to take back my troubles and deal with them on my own.

I sometimes wonder why I had to be born this way or as me or at all. But then I just have to believe that I'll know someday.

So I can identify with you in this way.

I am 31, and raising a child in Kindergarten. Don't worry. I feel like I am in over my head on a daily basis. We can all just do the best that we can! Good Luck! :0)
