Do we really sound like that on voice recorders?!
Question: I know we hear our voices differently from others hearing it, but do *we seriously sound like our voices on recorders?* I thought I had a medium pitched voice, but I sound so high and monotonousness, it's really unpleasant to listen too. *shrugs*

I don't think so. Also on video tape.I made a video and my granddaughter went on about how she liked my voice. But then again..on a Christmas video..I sounded AWFUL!! Can't even stand to watch it. I sound pretty good on a tape recorder. BF one time said how "sexy" my voice sounded on the phone.lol
But no one ever tells me these things about my voice in person. So I really think it has a lot to do with the machine.Maybe I should wear one all the time! lol
Also..do we look the same as we do in a mirror???
One way to tell is to record yourself and a friend. Then see if your friend's voice sounds the same on the recording or not.
Sadly, yes, that is how we sound. Your voice sounds different to you because it goes through two different mediums to reach your ears -- your head and the air. You hear everyone else's voice normally because it only travels through one medium -- the air.
