What is wrong with my sister?!
Question: She is happy loving herself. So exicted about her life. She is "normal" for weeks sometimes. Then she becomes so depressed. Has thoughts of killing herself. She cuts herself when she is feeling really depressed. Then hates herself for doing it. Today she was laughing then a few hours later crying. She is 19 years old. Mom is making her talk to a doctor. I think she might be bipolar. I know I'm not a doctor. What do you think?

I'm bi-polar, 51 diagnosed at 30, symptoms like your sisters, as far back as I can remember. Don't jump to any conclusions, but encourage your sister to see a doctor. The younger you are when you address your emotional problems, the easier it will be to learn to live with them. Your sister isn't crazy, but she may have a chemical imbalance in her brain. Help her help herself. Her behavior isn't her fault. but with appropriate treatment, it can be controlled. With therapy, she and your family can have a more peaceful life. Good Luck
She is probably manic depressive or bi polor. The doctor might give her something her help balance herself out. My friend was like that, there isnt much you can do outside of the medications just be there and support her. Try to remind her of things that makes her happy when she is sad.
The doctor can probably tell you ways to help you help her also.
