Short answer, no you are NOT losing it again.

It sounds like you may be suffering from some anxiety. I don't know what else is going on in your life, however there may be other stress that is causing this.

First of all, try and relax, take deep breaths and calm down. I understand your fear of going back into the hospital and everything, however the problems you are having don't necessarily require a hospital stay.

Talk to your doctor about these things. It may be a bit of anxiety that can be managed with a low dose of anti anxiety medications. Or an increase of meds or even a change is a possibility, however in most cases it does not require a hospital stay.

Since you are feeling happy again and these are problems that you seem to have had before and haven't been controlled with your current medication, your doctor may consider adding/changing/or adjusting medications. Don't panic though. This is very common with depression and anxiety treatment. As it takes time for medications to take effect, many times adjustments need to be made.

Your medication may need to be tweaked or changed or you may need an additional medication. Talk with your doctor and let him/her know what's going on. I'm sure that your medications can be adjusted to help you with the issues that you are having right now.

Take care and many blessings,

Michelle

You might get some mileage out of changing meds, but certainly do so only with professional supervision.

One study showed that people taking fish oil along with their meds got better results than people just taking meds-- cheap and safe to try, and if it helps, so much the better.

I have the same thing, but my memory is better since I refused to be overmedicated. I'd forget where I was, who I was. Still depressed, can barely function, but I now have a memory again.

You don't need meds.Have you thought about clinical Hypnotherapy? From what you describe much of your problem seems like stress. You cannot stop depression, but Hypnosis has been proved it can help.

try staying off all caffeine, just give it up, exercise, its good for the brain, by doing aerobics, you are also exercising your brain, put on your favorite music, and get lost in it, while doing aerobics, make up your own routine!! make yourself do it daily, if you really want to get better, you gotta get up and move!!!!!! no junk food, that stuff is pure crap, and we do not even really know whats in it., Prayers help too, good luck to you!!!!

I can relate. Short term memory loss is so frustrating!!

The memory loss may not be connected to either the medication or the depression. If you're over 45 (as I am) it may be connected with aging.

Ask for a referral to a neuropsychologist. I'm waiting for my appointment now!

Depression causes loss of concentration and forgetfulness.

The doxepin itself could contribute to the forgetfulness.

Talk to your Doc about changing meds.
