Hi Boris,

Good for you!!!! You're trying to deal with your problems by asking for help. It takes a strong person (in your case MAN) to face this kind of EMOTIONAL and PHYSICAL disorder.

(MAYBE the grass didn't help your situation... but it's NOT the underlying cause of the anxiety.)

ANXIETY attacks:
A terrible experience! Usually, the first one you think you're going to die. After you've had a few of these ... you have a double edged sword hanging over your head... worrying about WHEN you'll have one AND then actually HAVING one!!!

You may be like many others that have anxiety attacks, there are "other" symptoms and problems. One of the big ones is "depression". Again, many people who experience anxiety and/or depression try to "self medicate" (maybe you can identify with this?).

YES, YES, YES!!!!
You can get help! Talking to "us" here ISN'T going to alleviate or cure you. "We" can be supportive and encouraging. We can make suggestions.....but, SORRY ... like so many other things in life is isn't always that EASY. If it was easy you would have HANDLED this yourself through sheer will-power!

After what you've experienced for this length of time (years) you need to have a professional make a diagnosis. If you have insurance and can afford it.... get referrals for the best "shrink" in your area. If you have limited resources check out the mental health clinics. They will work with you regarding payment.

You will more than likely need at least one or two forms of therapy. I would expect that following an accurate diagnosis you will be prescribed medication(s). Along with this you could be encouraged to seek counseling or therapy.

If you are as open and honest with the doctor that you go to as you have been here....you should be a good candidate for successful treatment.

More and more MEN are seeking help from the mental health sector of professionals. Thank goodness it's becoming more acceptable for people to seek help instead of suffering!!!

Please!!!! Don't wait another day to take action! You owe it to yourself to get help. If it was a "visible" disease (like cancer) you wouldn't try and handle it yourself... you'd do something about it IMMEDIATELY! You would expect the medical profession to help you.
*Well, this is the same thing just not a visible disease or imbalance., but just as real!

Remember this can be HANDLED with the right kind of help. If you don't get relief the first time (wrong doctor) get somebody else!!!! Don't buy into someone else's idea of what is working for you. Trust yourself to KNOW if and when something is working right for YOU.

Wishing you the courage to seek help and the blessed relief when you get it!!! Take care of yourself the world need you whole and happy.

these feelings are symptomatic of an imbalance. you should see a professional to get help so you aren't so consumed by your fears.

It sounds like you are having anxiety attacks. They make you a nervous wreck and give you episodes of feeling out of control. They can really mess up your life. I think you should go to a psychiatrist, not a psychologist or counselor. They can't prescribe meds. I spent years on the latter two, and the only thing that's ever helped me much is medication. You might want to see a GP first to rule out physcial problems.

You need to see a Dr. Many people suffer from anxiety and there are medications that can help you. Your imagination is running away with you.

If you have been taking MAOI's it could be withdrawal, they are supposed to help anxiety, they do----but there is a hitch, they cause you to experience even worse episodes of panic attacks because your chemical balance is now dependent on them to keep from speeding out of control in anxiety, the drug supplies a serotonin and now you don't have it, just like any drug now you crave the drug to keep from having the anxiety and the fear of having anxiety makes you more anxious!

I also suffer from anxiety. Once, I had an attack that I ended up in the emergency room, felt like and had symptoms of a heart attack. It is very scary, I know. I think that the fear of having an attack ups the anxiety level even more. You should go to your Doctor and talk about this. There are a lot of medications that really help and you can get on with your life. Know that you are not alone and that there are many people that suffer with this. It won't be anything new to your doctor. If possible, try to find something that helps relax you...take deep breaths, maybe a shower or bath, exercise...something. Help from professionals makes a world of difference.

I'm Not being a smartazz but to me it sound like schizophrenia.... my daughter has it... please go seek psychological help

relax, you can feel better by changin your diet and making some major changes in you physical appearence,do no cry ,trim your hair and nails and take up weight lifting this will release positive emotions, even if you start with 10 pound weights, you are under a bad stress load and this can be fixed, buy a cat they just soak up negative energy like sponges,go for a Japanese Bobtail they are so loving and make great friends, once you start lifting I promise you will feel better, look up the 'Alice in wonderland syndrome'that will explain the limb thing, good luck things will change for you on the 13th ,stay strong and wear the colore blue somewhere on your body until then, that will give you the calm feeling of open spaces and you will breath better too,

sounds like panic disorder. I would see a doctor, I mean all I can say is that I learned to talk myself through it and tell myself that I am not going to die etc. Which totally does not help for the moment, but I would seek professional help and tell your school counselor what is going on too! You might feel better if you take medication

View the techniques for control of panic attacks, in section 8, in my website, at ezy build, below, which I created to contain all the information that there isn't enough space for, here. Begin, on this first occasion, only, by holding your breath for 5, or 10 seconds: this will give you the confidence to realise that YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BREATHING, but not pass out, or die (your autonomic nervous system resumes breathing, if you become unconscious). Understand panic attacks, and what triggers them, in your life (if it is unresolved anxiety, or stress, see sections 6, or 42, respectively). The paper bag method works for most people: try it. If you are fairly suggestible, the following are reliable: http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/
Your last alternative is psychotherapy, to address its fundamental cause: read section 1, and examine the http://1-800-therapist.com/ website, and use the locators, and phone book. I used to suffer from panic attacks, until I questioned what had changed in my life, at, or just before that time, to trigger them. For some people, this is enough. These days, I have instilled the habit of, whenever a situation occurs where panic is likely, I visualise a large, flashing red "STOP!" sign, as vividly as possible, followed by repeating to myself: "stay calm" in my mind. You could try the same method. It usually takes 30 - 40 repetitions, for most people, to establish a new habit. I also suggest that you learn, then practise the controlled breathing technique, until competent, then employ it, at the very first sign of a panic attack. Practice one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is also a version for use in public places, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris also refer: "Even though I sometimes suffer from panic attacks, I deeply and completely accept myself." Note: the controlled breathing only helps with the symptoms (as do medications/herbal remedies): you need to address the underlying cause, and this requires some form of therapy. Because many people can't access/afford professional therapy, I include the EFT, for them to try, free of charge. Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy is generally available in most areas, but EMDR (see section 33) may well be worth trying, and is becoming more widespread. Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily. They should be certified as being free of mercury, and if containing vitamin E, it should be shown as from a natural source; otherwise it is synthetic: avoid it! Consume with an orange, grapefruit, or their freshly squeezed juice. Eat healthily, in accordance with your "nutritional type" as determined at http://www.mercola.com/ SEARCHBAR.

Drink 2 - 4 cups of green tea, daily: preferably honey/lemon ginseng, from Celestial Seasonings: supermarket tea aisle. As with all herbal/green teas, use lemon/lime, and/or a little sweetener (NOT ARTIFICIAL!!!) but no cream, or milk. Exercise daily.

Xylitol is preferable, (health food stores) or fruit sugar (fructose, such as "Fruisana", from supermarket sugar aisles) or even a little honey, because these will reduce "sugar spikes", which later deplete you of energy. Minimise/eliminate consumption of highly processed foods, particularly grain products, such as white bread, donuts, cake, cookies/biscuits, or anything with sugar. Opt for more wholefoods, non-starchy vegetables (especially broccoli, and spinach, with lemon, or vinegar), and fruit. Have a medical checkup, (thyroid function, adrenals, etc.) including blood tests, for low iron levels. Many people in Western countries are lacking in minerals, such as zinc, magnesium, and calcium, so it is a good idea to have those levels checked as well.
