What do you do if you cannot think positive thoughts?!


Question: I am optomistic, but I am a realist too. All my choices lead me to dust.
Dammed if I do and damd if I don't . All my options are my demise.
I do not want to die. but I lose what ever choice I make.

I read a book a number of years ago and passed it on to a friend who was suicidally depressed. She told me it saved her life. The book is called New Mood Therapy by Dr. Burns. It is about cognitive distortions. Just reading it was really helpful. Doing the cognitive exercises helps even more. Hope you get it and find it as helpful as my friend did.

It's always good to accept reality. Just accept that you don't like where you are now, and review your options. You may hate all of them, but it's unlikely they will all lead to demise. Sooner or later, one of them is likely to help you lead out of your current situation. Commit to the best option, and start the long climb up out of the hole you're in.

If I can't be positive, I get real with myself and suck it up. And I don't mean that to be insulting, just to share how I do it.

i am nice polite and have good health! so i need to be positive!

Just get mad.
i smile everyday at work, school, and everywhere I go.
Everything something bad happen to me. I am able to find things good things.
Something being too positive is a bad thing. You need to balance both the positive and negative energy in your life. So my advice is go all out and be mad at time. Be mad at your yourself. You understand yourself a lot more if you do.

I know how you feel. I can be pretty negative at times.

You just got to keep yourself busy.

Set realistic goals for yourself, and the more you accomplish you'll feel better. If your goal fails, make another.

Having something to hope for, or looking forward to (even if it doesn't necessarily happen) can make you feel a lot better. Something to work towards.

Stop whining about your choices, life is a ***** get a helmet and hit harder.
Hind sight is 20 20 because now you know the result of you choice. Obviolsy your not learning anything from your mistakes or the mistakes of others. WOW you must be ignorant(NOT STUPID JUST DONT KNOW) or maybe just a bit to analytical.

Feeling negative about life .take a tour of a children's hospital , then start hanging with a happier bunch .stay clean. get a plan and start exercising or team sports. oh yes and don't root for the Cubs.

I'm doubting your optimism... : /
And.. If you can't think positive... just weigh the negatives.

Don't think at all...... that's better than having all negative thoughts
