How do i get over my fear of "staying home by myself"??!

Question: night and day??
I literally cry, shake, sweat, shiver, i get a headaches, i feel pukey, dizzy, can't eat, can't make loud noises because i feel like someone will break in and much more. I live in quite a safe place but i still get very scared and im aware of every bit of sound that takes place even the clock ticking?
Any help to get me over my fear of staying home by myself will be appreciated immensely.
Thanks in advance xx

Remind yourself that your friends probably stay home by themselves, too. And they're fine! No-one is going to break in, so don't worry about it.

If you want to take pre-cautions, Make it seem like there's at least more than one person in the house. Turn on in lights on the opposite side of the house. Put on loud music every night.

Getting a dog might help you too. They can protect you, and keep you company. =]

Take care hunni! =]

adopt a dog if you can. most dogs are protective and will alert you when there's really something important to notice. Also, don't have it so quiet that you can hear the clock, turn on some music or the tv for a little background noise.

has anything ever happend to you?? like someone rapping you or something??? cus that sounds very Physcological. what you need to do is concentrate on something else watch t.v listen to the radio!! something that will make noise so you wont hear anything. im like that too that i hear everything and im thinking they are going to break in but its all mentally! very hard to get over but you have to! and incase something did happend to you i suggest you get help from a physcologist .!

find yourself a boyfriend

Play a bit of music within your room ro invite a few friends over during the day, but as for night why don't you just make sure all the doors are shut and the wndows are closed and the lights are off and a check in general.

i have to same feeling and it is even by myself in my room in the dark at night i have to have someone in there till i go to sleep coz if there is no1 around i will have a panic attack

I used to be like you when I had to spend 2-3 nights a week in another city, alone in an apartment. I checked and again checked the door, the windows, even the closets! I couldn't sleep till 3-4 am. I never had a problem when it was day, though.
I found out that when I was out all day and came home at 9 pm, watched a little TV, I got sleepy and didn't have the energy to get up and double-check everything. I got used to the noises, too. I think you should do things all day in order to feel tired at night and sleep fast.
With time I got used to it and I feel safe now. And when you feel like you can't handle it, invite some friends for a sleepover. Good Luck!

I suggest two ways please choose one of these :

a- visit a psychologist or psychiatrist and follow his or her recommendations or orders.
b- try living in nature and living more naturally.
In my view fear is not bad by itself ,it brings protection from danger, but there should be enough reason for that ,otherwise that causes a disease and prevents normal life and activity.

i agree with polarmo geta pet, dog preferably, they're great companions and you'd feela lot safer ask your doc to refer you to a behavioural therapist it could be something that triggered it from your childhood i'm waiting to see one about my fear of crowds. lol oh maybe put on music a bit louder or tv to take your mind off it.

this is called monophonic i have it too.it's not unusual for someone to be scared or have a phobia that may seem a little unreasonable to others. This could be a result of just growing up or something more serious like abandonment issues or paranoia. Ideally, you should discuss this with a counselor or psychologist/psychiatrist. That's the only way that you're going to get at the root of your fears. Until then, anything else you do is just like putting a bandaid on the wound. But that's always easier said than done.

Just try to relax you will be alright. I think that a lot of people worry about that at some time or another. Chances are, nothing bad will happen, so don't worry so much. Is there a phone right by you? If not, that might make you feel better. If your REALLY scared, then you can always invite someone to stay with you. Dont worry, you'll be ok. Just try not to worry about it. keep doors and windows locked at all times. Don't let anyone into your home that you don't know. you have a long time to figure out what to do.

I guess if you believe in God, close your eyes and pray.
