Anxiety/Depression question?!

Question: I read that if you have anxiety, it can soon lead to depression. And vice-versa. But, can you have them both at the same time? If so, is it possible that paranoia could stem from the combination of these to illnesses?

I have very bad anxiety which has gone into a social phobia. I had the social phobia first then got paranoia as i felt like my friends don't want to see me or they hate me which then leads to depression. I have to say the depression is making the paranoia worse.

Yes depression and anxiety do occur together. I'm not sure if paranoia stems from the two mixed together. Often times the person would be experiencing psychosis in addition to the two previously mentioned illlnesses.
