Um. What would be a happy death? I'm having a hard time imaging what that would be. Laughing and keeling over of a heart attack at the same time? But you'd feel pain and poof goes the happy. A manic's euphoric suicide... but that's psychosis and not what any rational person would be talking about. Dying of old age with all your loved ones around having made peace with all including yourself? That's a peaceful death. It is not happy. Painless, die in your sleep, that I can wrap my mind around. What a happy death would actually be seems to escape me.

Btw, death is death. It is neither good nor bad.

I think that a good death is a happy death. To me, being happy is the best thing anyone can try to be.

In my opinion, a good death is a both physically and psychologically painless death surrounded by your loved ones.

I don't think death is either good or happy - or that it is totally painless. Even if you are unconscious, your brain is still working and can still feel pain.

to me no death is happy but i suppose a painless death is the happiest you could hope for.

i think a good death is being with your loved 1s and a painless 1 where u just drift into death or is your a adrenaline junky (like a high flyer) then masybe like a really crazy accident

Once dead no pain or emotion

To me, there really is no such thing as a "good death" because you hurt so many people whether you were happy or not. But yeah, no pain is better than a whole bunch of pain. I agree there.

death is the opposite of life in which we ascribe terms like "good/bad"

I think our death will be far beyond our earthly comprehension

it would be like explaining real life to Donkey Kong's Mario who spends a quarter's worth of time doing menial and ultimately pointless tasks - it's not even within the same bounds of comprehension

I think we are "Marios" in this world - once it's over it'll be a whole different set of rules and reality

good death is all death - because it releases us from this menial and pointless existence and will be an enlightenment beyond current comprehension

What causes your death can be very very painful indeed. But the actual MOMENT of death... isn't.

I was taught that a good death was one where the dying person had the chance to confess his sins and receive absolution.

if you know youre going to heaven, then death will be both painless and happy..

well, at least the happiness will overcome any pain if you have any, or you'll not care cuz it will be over soon anyways
