Falling asleep late?!

Question: Recently I have developed a very bad habbit. Which is, I fall asleep very late. Last night I went to bed at around 10:00 pm and was awake till 2:30 am. I have to wake up early in the morning, 6:00 am to be exact, in order to go to work. Sometimes I fall asleep very fast while some times i just can't fall asleep. I worry about this issue all the day. On weekends, I can fall asleep very easily. Anyone else having same issue? How can we fix it. I have tried warm milk, it don't work for me.

This is a classic sleep disorder referred to as delayed sleep onset syndrome. Some people suffer from it more or less all their life. I had my first episodes of it as a 4th grader and still have it. You MAY be able to cope by rearranging your whole life around afternoon and evening school and work. Or you can try forcing yourself to get up early and get exhausted early in the day with exercise, etc. This, I can tell you, will never work more than half the time. When you finally do get a good night's sleep, the problem will start all over again the next night.

Some doctors believe the pineal gland is responsible in that it doesn't release melatonin (which is triggered by darkness) as soon as it should each day. If this theory is right, the problem is part of your wiring and really cannot be changed. However, melatonin is also now available to buy...try 1 mg. a hr. or so before turning in. Sometimes this disorder can be helped alot with prescription anti-anxiety medications such as Ativan. You might also find Ambien useful for AWHILE if you are getting over an anxiety disorder. There is no "sleeping pill" that will work for very long. Trust me I have tried them ALL!! I would stay away from Benadryl....it may seem to work at first but is really not good for you.

well i have the same problems and usually what i do and i really woks trust me !!
i leave like a nightlight im scared of the dark i close my doord i usually leave my tv on i watch about 5 min then turn over close my eyes next thing i know i waking up at 8:00

or u can just turn everything off and close your eyes dont think about anything and the next thing you wont even remember falling asleep !!

try some benedryl or a sleep aid. if that doesn't work ask your doctor for some sleeping pills.
