What is a physcotic episode?!

Question: something to do with a mental health disorder...?

Answers: something to do with a mental health disorder...?

It is horrible. I have seen a very close family member suffer from a complete psychotic episode that lasted for 5-7 weeks. He would repeat the same thing over and over and over.... He would see things that were not there. He would talk out of his head - about things that didn't happen or make sense. He would hear noises and see things that wren't there. He would sometimes not reconise who we were. He would rip things off the wall, rip the blankets off the bed, rip his own clothes off and grab/hit people. He had to be tied down in restraints to the bed. He broke out of the velcro restraints so they had to put leather thick ones on his arms and legs. He would lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and repeat himself. He would also say the government was watching him through the TV. He thought he could talk to people who were in the TV. He also was big on talking about God and religion.

It is the most horrible states a person can be in in my opinion. I think I would almost rather just die or be comatose then go through one as bad as I've seen./

Yes.

An example would be those angry episodes Bill Clinton displays when things aren't going his way.

Patients who experience an acute psychotic episode lasting longer than one day but less than one month and that may or may not immediately follow an important life stress or a pregnancy (with postpartum onset). This illness usually comes as a surprise as there is no forewarning that the person is likely to "break down," although this disorder is more common in people with a pre-existing personality disorder (particularly histrionic and borderline types). The main diagnostic criteria is as follows:

A psychotic episode is an occurrence of behavior that could indicate psychosis, or some type or mental disorder. For more information on what psychosis is, see the link above.

Yes, you are right, that is what it is.
Psychosis is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality." People suffering from it are said to be psychotic.

People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and disorganized thinking. This may be accompanied by unusual or bizarre behaviour, as well as difficulty with social interaction and impairment in carrying out the activities of daily living.

Hope that helps
