Effexor XR?!
Question: I take Effexor XR for my panic attacks and I take them every evening with dinner...For aome odd reason I can't remember if I took it an hour ago or not...should I just take one or wait til tomorrow night?

I'd wait till tomorrow...it's possible that if you missed it you'll find yourself feeling strange (light headed, dizzy, headachy, etc)....which will go away after your next dose. Effexor is known for having strong withdrawal effects, but with the XR it's not as bad. I've been on the regular release, which I could feel it within hours of missing a dose. On XR I didn't have that problem, but I was also pretty good at taking meds regularly by then. You may want to take it a little bit earlier tomorrow.
If you did take it and you take it again (double dosing), you're likely to feel worse than you will if you don't take it.
I highly recommend using a weekly pill dispenser...you can get them in any dollar store. It helps a lot.
Just to clarify...the answer before mine says it's for depression. While it is an antidepressant, they are often used to treat anxiety disorders as well (with the exception of Wellbutrin). And anxiety and depression are known for going hand in hand.
Play it safe and wait until tomorrow.

What dosage are you on? A missed dose can cause some problems with your panic attacks, but an overdose can cause problems as well. Without knowing your dosage, I would say that it's probably safer for you to miss a dose than to double a dose. I believe that's what information you'd get from a poison control hotline as well. There is some speculation that my overdose in January was due to my manic state and my repeated failure to remember if I took my pills are not. Because of that, I feel that not taking a chance of a double dose is erring on the safe side. You may feel some setbacks with the panic attacks, so be prepared. If you did miss a dose, the medications should catch up to you again soon enough.

I would wait until tomorrow or maybe you can take a count of the pills and do some math to see if you have taken it. If you're still not sure, just wait until tomorrow.
It is best just to wait so you dont O-D. It can be taken am or pm, however it does have a tendency to keep you awake.
I also do that all the time with effexor. Wait until tomorrow unless you get side effects. (dizziness, feel kinda funny)
