Is it wrong that I live in my own fantasy world 80% of the day?!

Question: And no I don't mean sexual fantasy.

Answers: And no I don't mean sexual fantasy.

Whatever kind of fantasy it is, you're depriving yourself of real-life experience that helps you grow and mature and be connected with real people in real ways.

If this "fantasy world" is more real to you than the real one, something is out of balance.

At about age 10 I was frequently disconnected from the here and now - day dreaming they called it. Years later I learned it was not just that. My life was disrupted in increasing ways, and with nebulous symptoms that my family Dr was left puzzled by. As an adult the day dreams became flash backs, that's when my treatment began. Dissociation is what I learned it was, the disconnection from reality.

I recommend seeing a counselor/ therapist or psychologist.
You can call your local Mental / Behavioral Health clinic.

Is it "wrong" to live the majority of your life in a fantasy world?
No. But it isn't wise or healthy either.

depends if it is causing any disturbances on your social and work life. if its not getting in the way of work and/or school and you aren't losing relationships with it, its just fine.

depending on how old you are I'm 14 and i wold rather be in my own fantasy world

No.never. go there anytime u want.

don't be like that, u must change cos it wrong, if not, you'll going to bad... but the good is, u not mean sexual fantasy...

it is okay, but mayhap you'll start to realize that you wasted your time instead of doing things that would make this world decent enough that you would want to spend all your time here. don't get me wrong, though. at this point, reality has nothing to see that doesn't suck. but if we all don't do anything about it, well, that's how not one but 2 bush's have been presidents. bad ones. really bad ones. really really bad ones. really really really bad presidents. almost as bad as reaganomics. maybe it's really not okay that we keep leaving this reality...

Being disconnected from reality is the base of the definition of mental illness. Only you know what you really mean about living 80% of the time in a fantasy world. If you don't tell yourself the truth, if you are not grounded in reality, if you lie to friends, family, strangers - if 80% of your life is a lie, you are swimming in very dangerous waters and you either need to help yourself by reigning this behavior in or, if you cannot do it alone, seek professional help.

Often people who have more to bear than they can handle will opt for fantasy until the heart break or shock or whatever has some time to become less intense and so fantasy can be helpful and productive. Your question is lacking far too much detail to respond in any seriously helpful way.

It would be well worth your while to see a counselor for 2-3 visits just to figure out the answer to the question you have asked. The first visit is all "intake" - questions about your background. After that, you get to get into talking about what you need help with - that might take a couple visits - or a lifetime of therapy, depending.

Good luck!

This kind of inner life is quite common
