YES!! Well, if its clinical...your brain chemicals are naturally awry. But depression of any kind makes your mind unclear. I am prone to bouts of depression due to certain events or situations, ("situationally induced major depression") and my head is so FULL of that one thing thats wrong that I say and do whatever spontaneously errupts because when youre depressed you dont care (at first) about or see concequences, yourself, others...youre too clouded to even estimate what will happen or could happen if you say or do whatever....it will cause problems for you unless you can clear out your mind before you do something BAD...and since most people dont get it, you wont get much empathy, youll get trouble. Try an antidepressant to help you cope, until you can change any major problems in your life if there are any.

You may be a Diabetic and dont know it yet!

What kind of dumb things? Shopping sprees and things like that? Could be Bi-polar, the highs will make you feel so good that you do go out and do things like that which you normally would not.

In my experience I would say yes, but everyone is different.

Sounds like manic depressive disorder, gotten me in trouble more than once.

Sometimes you feel like you can't freaking get out of bed, other times you are so freaking competent (in your own mind) that you can do anything.

Sounds like you might need to see a psychiatrist my friend.

Wellbutrin or some other Seratonin uptake inhibitor may be in your future.

(also DO get checked for diabetes)

Good Luck!

You may have adhd as well or even be bi-polar, so tell your therapist. Usually depression causes people to be less active and not find enjoyment in many activities.

it's all in your mind. you can't stop being depressed anytime...the only reason you think you're depressed is because some stupid Dr. told you so...it's all a lie! YOu can fight it! YOURSELF! TELL YOURSELF that YOU'RE NOT DEPRESSED and YOU ARE VERY HAPPY! It's only you mind playing tricks on you! DOn't take drugs and all that crap! Believe in yourself and fight the worry and negativity

i'm the same way so, i'm saying yes. i have deep depression and some times i'll get a burst of adrenaline and do some of the stupidest things. it's just how depression works on some people.

are you sure you're not bipolar? the sudden rush of adrenaline sounds like a manic phase, and then spending lots of money. i am bipolar, and you pretty much just described me in everything you said.

you sonud bi polar
go google it , its life long and needs meds
good luck

Lay off the junk food, get more exercise and eat more fruit and veg. Don't drink coffee, that is a big part of the problem.
Above all, lay off the junk food.. it makes you dumb and twitchy.

Depression may not cause dumb choices, but it certainly allows you make dumb choices. Speaking for myself, I had trouble concentrating & thinking things thru logically..Because of that I often made very poor choices. When I got into therapy & onto meds, things got much better..I still do dumb things, but not as dumb & not as often...

Just stupid and lack of common sense.
