Sleep disturbances, both too much and unable to sleep are signs of depression, at this point it would be reckless to diagnose you however, because clinical depression should be discovered through a blood test. See your doctor, he would rule out any physical symptoms and recommend meds for anxiety, depression or whatever you are suffering.

Just be up front about your tickets on any applications. They understand, and have seen much worse. If i am remembering right, most applications only ask for felony convictions. Keep applying for jobs and never take the ones you don't get as defeats, just interviewing skills practice.

Get up, take a shower. Go for a walk. Get lots of sunshine. Take a break and then look for a new job.

any change in sleep patterns is a sign...too much sleep, or too little. Same with eating.

Once your confidence takes a big hit, it's hard to get it back, but don't be afraid and go look for a job, and I'm sure employers would want to know about your criminal record so just tell them, after all, it's just unpaid traffic tickets.

You have slipped into avoidance behaviour by avoiding the reality of what's happened to you recently and you've started sleeping your life away as a way of not having to face your problems and deal with them....go see a doctor to get some counselling on what to do sometimes a chat with a professional can be the trick....because loosing a job is one of the highest reasons of depression...when everything piles on top of you all in a week it seems like your whole world is falling apart but if you take one problem at a time and attend to it that way it doesn't seem so HUGE...see a doctor and just talk about it all.

Sleeping IS a sign of depression, but you are not depressed.

You're just having a really rough time right now - and this is why you would prefer to be in bed rather than out in the real world again.

Everybody needs a bit of down time - you will be ok.

Yes, sleeping a lot is a sign of depression; "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy," by David D Burns.

if its a physical problem,ie you cant physicaly get up,
dont have 'energy' or anything similar
it could be some background problem like anemia, diabetes and any other physical ones that cause lack of energy and lethargia

look out for other symptoms, monitor your body and see whats different

there are many different things to look out for

the one you mention is just one symptom and not enough to decide what it is,
every illness usually comes with a few symptoms so keep a diary or your health, including physical things, like skin, hair, nails, eyes, mouth and tongue, anything like that
and a diary of your emotional state,
even your eating habits, drinking habits

this will help you eventually be able to distinguish possible causes

if its emotional, ie you dont want to get out of bed, dont see the point, thats more likely to be mental health, ie depression etc,
although some physical problems can also cause this

stress, which effects both emotional and physical is also a possibility

You need to talk to a doctor so he can decide what kind of help you may need.
