Question about "Abilify "medication?!
Question: My question is USED to take Abilify for bipolar and I was takeing it accordin to my doctors instructions and things were going well, for about 6 weeks,them my jaw started to thghten and muscels would tighten and it would accually trigger panic attacks in me.Oviously a reaction to my meds oviously I told my docor and she said to immeditaily stop takeing the Abilify. no i have been off the meds for about 10 days now i still suffer these symptoms the muscel tightness has lessened but the panic attacts ane still there.My question is how long after you stop takeing the med does these symptoms stay around.anyone elce expirence any negitive sideeffects from Abilify.Answers I do not want are check with your doctor or im not sure this is a serious question I honestly feel someone elce out there expirences this symptoms agian this is NOT a question about panic attacks. thank you

I am not speaking from personal experience, but a very close friend of mine went through almost exactly what you describe with Ability (aripiprazole).
In his case it was muscle tightness in the legs and arms, and even though it wasn't painful, it was very distressing (and caused panic), and was very hard for him to tolerate the sensation itself.
The good news is, that the panic associated with this, and the muscular symptoms did go away. The downside is, if I recall correctly it took just over 3 weeks for the effects to completely go away.
Abilify seems to be a godsend to some people (there are plenty of testamonials online from people who have had tremendous benefit from it), and a curse to others.
Drink heaps of water, do exercise (just walking for 30-60mins a day wld really help), and this will get it out of your system as fast as possible. I'd say within another two weeks you'll be free of anything caused by the Abilify.

I took abilify for my Bi-Polar and it was AWFUL, I felt on edge all the time, then my muscles started tensing up, everything hurt from my back to my jaw. It took about 2-3 weeks to feel somewhat normal again. It was a reaction to the medication I forget what my Doc called it but it's a common side effect. You will begin to feel better soon.
i just quit taking abilify. it caused swelling. i've been off it for a week. the swelling in my face is gone, still waiting for the rest of me to shrink down to normal. i am experiencing restlessness. so i guess my answer is that it will take time that will only seem like forever. don't worry, nothing lasts forever.
