Spending time outdoors and/or in nature works wonders. Sometimes I get depressed or tired and I can't convince myself to take time out of my schedule to go for a nice long walk, but once I do get outdoors it really helps amazingly.

Talking about your fears and emotions helps enormously too. It's really surprising once you start talking to a good listener some of the things you will say. Talking about them helps you to figure out what you're really thinking and what is bothering you, even if you think you already know what it is. It can also help to have people reassure you; sometimes I tell my parents about my anxieties, and saying them out loud to them makes them sound really ridiculous and I realize there is far less to worry about than I thought there was.

I know this sounds dumb, but take deep controlled breaths in and out.

i lay in bed, find my favorite show, and if there isnt a good show on, lay in bed with the lights off, and listen to my favorite songs on the ipod. works every time. it sucks i know...but you'll find ur thing that works for you, just try diffferent things

R.I.P

What qwerty said.
Also it might help to imagine the air you are breathing is a soothing color, and counting. Sounds weird but works for some.

ive had anxiety for a while now maybe for like a year. i just take deep breaths && try to calm myself down. i would always panic throughout the night && reaaly just sitting down and listening to music would help me stop thinking of things. talking to people you are close with also may help when you have anxiety .
only you know what will calm you down , so uhm maybe dont think of things that make you anxious ?

hope i helped a little bit .

I take meds, but when that dont do it for me, I find my safe place, like in my bed alone watching tv, car etc.....make sure to watch your breathing, counting is good, so is bubble gum, for some reason it takes my mind of the impulse to breath faster.

my way of dealing with anxiety is meditation. just sit down, relax, clear my mind and meditate. it's a great way to release stress.

that or take a bubble bath and just soak up the warmness and let all the negative energy flow out.

Eat potatoes, like french fries, baked potatoes and drink milk. I being a male have recently been researching the way endorphins affect mood, and i noticed they help anxiety, look at ways to produce endorphins I know my way to produce them is going to the gym, running, swimming etc, and always have a full stomach and this should last about 1 day before it wears off, endorphins are produced by the body to help deal with pain sort of like marijuana it helps especially after heavy workouts etc.

Covering your mouth with your hands actually helps contain and gain certain chemicals your body needs to relax, and works quite well. It also takes a lot of training with your mind.

I also take medication for chronic depression, which also has benefits for helping dealing with anxiety.

Taking deep breathes will definitely help you. Anxiety occurs due to lot of thinking, work pressures. You need to interact with people and indulge yourselves in other activities instead thinking of some thing for longer.

Well I have bipolar and Gad (generalized anxiety disorder). I haven't found much success for my anxiety. I tried all sorts of ssri's and haven't had much benefit. The best med that i have tried for the the panic feeling that is associated with the anxiety is propranolol. This has helped me control the racing feeling that you get when you have an attack..

I'm not sure what the best way treatment for you would be. Talk with a doctor if you can.

my psychologist recommended EFT. heres a link

it looks like garbage but it has a free manual that could get you started. If you want to try in properly go see a psychologist they should know how to do it
