Lithium Withdrawal?!
Question: My boyfriend was on lithium for about a month, he ran our of his medication this week and has been having all kinds of things happening. Can anyone who has experienced this share thier story as far as what happened when you quit taking this? I'm not sure if this is what is going on or if it's something else. (He's showing signs of spermatic torsion??!-I'm a medical student and I know that's an emergency but he won't listen!)

i have taken lithium in the past and i remember the withdraws were quite severe. i hated everyone i felt like hell i puked i had extreme blackouts i can not recall anything that happened when i wasnt taking the meds. litium is ogtem prescribed to a person with bipolar disorder is that what your BF has. if so it is extremly important that he gets back on his meds as soon as possible as the damages from being off them can be more severe then being on them. hope this helps
he can go thru all sorts of withdrawals. None of them good.
Keep talking to him to get to the doctor.
To come off lithium you have to do it controlled.

one study stated it has no withdrawal from abruptly stopping however generically I believe patience are weaned off
