I am addicted to cutting myself please help?!

Question: Hey, for about a month now probably a bit more I have been cutting myself to let out pain and emotions and now I am addisted to it. Even when I am not particularly unhappy one day I will still cut myself. I even think I may like it. It all started a couple of years ago when my best friend left me for no apparent reason. Since then I have been extremely depressed and it has been very hard dealing with moving back and forth from my mums and my dads house and getting up early and taking long bus rides to and from school. Lately I have even been having quite alot of suicidal thoughts. and I just can't handle things anymore. Does anyone have any advice or personal stories of their own that may help me? Thankyou so much for reading this

I cut (and still do sometimes) for over 6 years, it can very easily develop into a daily habit and it's hard to break but if you seek help it should help you stop. When you cut you get a release of hormones which make you feel better and those can be addictive, so cutting can quickly become a regular habit. If you go to your doctor they can point you in the right direction of someone who can help you, I had a combination of drugs and counseling. I wish I hadn't done it for so long without seeking help. There are better coping mechanisms to have, cutting isn't the best, I would seek help if I were you, take care, I hope everything goes ok for you.

Hey, I'm friends with a razor too. I've been cutting since I was in 5th grade and I'm in high school now. I've always had problems with making and keeping friends, so I've always been sort of sad and angry with myself. Cutting seemed like the only solution to take out my anger and pain. It got worse in middle school, when I'd cut about 5-6 times a day, even taking my razor to school and doing it between classes in the girls bathroom. Now that I'm in high school, I've made a lot of new friends and one of which really care about me. He's helping me stop now. I think you just need to find someone who really cares about you and someone you can just talk to.
Good luck.

well i been cutting for about 2months now. its just a way of... releveing stress, pain and emotions i still do i cut my arms and whrits with a sciance knife i took from school. i know how
hard it is to ask someone and get help.

I don't recommened drugs. People on anti-depressants are actually more likely to commit suicide, along with many side effects.

I recommened councilling. Check out what support groups there are in the area.

baby, don't do this....
try to write a diary when u r angry,
write all the expressions that r coming in your mind in that very moment....
later on when u will check out that, u will understand your mistakes....

I do it too what my friend told me to do was to wear a rubber band around my wrist and flip it over to see ur veins pull it back as far as it will go and let go.
