Phobias, HELP! 10 points?!


Question: i Have a lot of phobias and I cant get rid of them, yet i can't see a therapist or whatever
oceans and swimming pools
heights
planes (flying)
Ships (cruseing)
wasps beens
lighting and thunder
21/12/2012 (thts not a phobia but its freaking me out!)
tornadoes
earth quakes
tsunamis
london (the city)
U.S.A (country)

I need help of these phobias, with the weather and that i keep thinking a earthquake or anything like that will stryke like every 5 minuites like im paranoid
can some1 help me please?

Abigail, you have your whole life ahead of you and living with these irrational fears is going to make your life unbearable. It's only going to get worse in the long run and you really must seek some help from a therapist. Cognitive Behavior Therapy will work for you. You don't really want to live like this do you? I feel for you, but I know that you can get over it with some help. Enjoy your life and be happy. All of this is in your mind and you must get beyond it.

well i would hope your scared of torandos and earthquakes, it's a natural thing to be afraid of dying.. i think your fine

why cant you see a therapist? you have a phobia for those too?

Well just make a plan so if something like that ever happens u know what to do like get a first aid and some flash lights and other things then made a plan where the safest place to go would be put all that stuff there. Then u need stuff to keep your mind of being afraid of these things.

Breathe this is normal instead of seeing them all as phobias' try thinking of them as goals. water such as swimming pools. IT's just water. You drink it. Try sitting in the bathtub, then hold your breathe nd go under the water. Try doing it for 1 second then 2 etc. If you can't stand that relax and try something you do like to do. As for earthquake really think about if it's happened in the last decade or so. It's nice to be prepared but you still have a life. Surround yourself with things you love to do, jogging, music, even dancing around your house!

You're afraid of the U.S.?

Unless you are a terrorist i think you're safe on that one.

If 2012 freaks you out and you think the world may end...then why waste your time worrying about all of your phobias? It's only four years away so I say in that time, make it your goal to do all the things your afraid of. Go bungee jumping, take a flying lesson, and go on a cruise. Whats the worst that could happen? If you die doing any of this, who cares, the world may end in 4 years anyways. At least this way you'll be living your life and have less regrets :)

you have pantaphobia (AKA panophobia)..pretty much fear of everything. mixed with a little xenophobia, fear of the unknown.

You really should seek counseling if this is for real. Phobias donot "get better" by themsleves. They actually get worse.

It's not a hassel, going to a therapist..whats a hassel is living in abject terror over trivial things. If you think embarrassing, then that should mean you want all the more to make it go away, right?

Just relax, just remember that anything mother nature throws at us is out of all of our hands, just keep in mind that you are not alone, and if it is going to happen to you it is going to happen to hundreds of other people, some people fear numbers ( I heard anyways) that the reason people fear numbers is because they are remembering something from their past life, such as the time they passed away, or the date they passed, and sometimes when people fear towns and or cities, is because that is where something tragic or memorable has taken place in your past life, check around in these certain numbers and cities that you fear and see if something for some reason rings a bell for you, maybe if things are real bad like you say hypnosis may be the best thing, seems like you are subconsciencly blocking something good luck!

You want us to cure you ? You came on here of your own free will. The answer is ..SEE A THERAPIST... you think a therapist is a hassle ... sounds like the life you're living is an extreme hassle . GET HELP!!!
Or you will just have to keep suffering.

i think you should see a therapist..he or she can help you overcoemt hese things. If you don't want to talk to your dad about it, just tell him that you have some stuff going on that you don't want to talk to him about and that you'd like to see a therapist
