Has not enjoying my job made me depressed? or has being depressed made me not en!

Question: Perhaps they feed into each other.

Most of us spend a good third of our life at work. If you're working at a job that you find mildly annoying from time to time, and you're otherwise mentally healthy, you may be able to recharge your batteries and revitalize your approach to work by focusing on the better times at work or by making time for hobbies, friends, etc. outside of work. However, if you're already depressed, the mildly annoying aspects of work can become much more intrusive, and you won't be engaging in pleasurable activities in your free time-- so you become more depressed... and work seems much more of a burden than it should. In this case, probably you'll enjoy work more once you address the underlying cause of your depression.

If, on the other hand, you're working in a job where the unpleasant parts far outweigh any redeeming qualities, or if you're working too many hours at a job that somehow saps your spirit (perhaps the work environment sucks, or the job is clearly not in line with your own values and priorities, or just bores you to tears...), the JOB may be the primary cause of your depression. If you're spending a third or more of your day doing work you HATE, it's not going to be so easy to reconcile yourself to it by carving out an hour or two on Saturday to go fly fishing (or whatever). In this case, you're likely to continue being miserable until you either find a different job or find a way to reconfigure your job meet at least some of your more fundamental needs.

what is your job? If you work in McD's I'd say its yout job to blame. We need more info

If its just your job that you are depressed with then your job has made you depressed. If you are depressed with things outside your job and your whole life then it is depression that has made you not enjoy your job.

Has something happened at work to make you feel depressed or were you depressed before?

If you are being treated badly, unfairly or made to feel uncomfortable then maybe your employer is doing something wrong.

If you're always been a bit down on yourself maybe you need to work on making yourself feel better

you could be depressed and cannot be bothered to work or the job is so boring that has made you depressed

don't you know what you own mind thinks!

If there's never been a time that you enjoyed it then it's the job.

That is a vicious circle. If you go into work to consume a big bit of your time, unhappy knowing that you will be the same when you leave is terrible.
If work is not rewarding, get a lot of life going outside.
Or, if work is depressing it is because it is one of:
boring/tedious
nasty
or you just have an attitude of hating it.
We all go to work for money, ultimately.
At one time my job was liek a hobby which is great.
DEpression is very common especially in the winter and people are very stressed out by fear of lack of money and fear of ill health and violence. I read this is a reliable source recently and I agree with it.
Start by getting something good in your life to enjoy and that will take you through hours at work, knwoijng that there is more to life.
Work them make pick up because of you being cheerful.

Works both ways; if you go to work with problems it causes problems, if you have problems at work you take them home.

Time to step back and look at what the cause is. Find the cause and you have already solved the problem.

Time for something in your life to become history?
