Is this OCD? I think about things over and over and over for days?!

Question: What is the treatment?

Answers: What is the treatment?

OCD is an anxiety disorder. Those that suffer with OCD experience obsessive and intrusive thoughts and repetitive obsessive behaviors. Have you ever seen the TV show "Monk?" That is an exaggerated and stereotypical form of OCD.

Those with OCD seek therapy to learn mechanisms to calm and control their thoughts and behaviors. Some anxiolytic medications can help with the anxiety so you won't have the impulses to think these thoughts.

I started seeing a social worker to learn various techniques to calm myself. I would think about things so much and so deeply that my thoughts would turn into panic attacks. It's a vicious cycle. The best option I found was to go on medication. After it kicked in to my system, I was able to have my life back.. and thats the greatest gift.

I agree with Manda./But There are supplements that may help, but it the repetitive and intrusive thoughts are bother you i would get help from a professional, but talk therapy is a little help remember those repeat thoughts are sometimes not based on realities so don't be worried about them which can cause more anxiety.-St John wort -sam-e inostol 5 htp are all supplement but remember they are not regulated by FDA a can not be mixed with medication.Try to find a doctor that deal with alternative medicine or naturalist.or and behavior specialist don't suffer with the problem please deal with it and you will be happy/God Bless
