Question: a bad relationship with a girlfriend? because im 15 and i have the illness, and im pretty socialble with friends, but will that be bad for my girlfriend?

No, schizophrenia cannot cause a bad relationship with a girlfriend, and I sincerely hope that you do not think that it will be your fault if the relationship fails to work out. All relationships have difficulties, but it's all about finding the right person who will understand the situation and that will be there for you regardless of anything. Schizophrenia is an illness, but in no way does it define you as a person. Remember that you are still young, and you will probably have many relationships throughout your life time, so don't put yourself down if it doesn't last. It's definitely hard to find the right person at times, but in the end, it's always worth the wait!
Anything can cause a relationship to go bad when you're 15.
well if you are going to see a psychiatrist and are on medication or dealing and working with you mental illness, I don't see how it can cause to many issues, but yes ant any age anything can cause problems in a relationship it's all in the way you deal with that problem; that will determine how the outcome is.
Well, if your illness is well managed, I don't think it would interfere too much.
Hey I commend you. Admitting and accepting that you have schizophrenia is a positive step. I know plenty of people with mental illnesses including schizophrenia that have great relationships. Remember to take your meds. on time, all the time. Keep an open and honest relationship with your family/guardians and medical team and girlfriend. Read as much as you can on the illness. Knowledge is power!
I'm bipolar... have been for years. I'm on meds. Yes, I do have some down days but overall life is good. I've been on disability before and am again but hey that happens. I'm getting married in 3 months. The guy I'm married also has a mental illness... so yes relationships do work.
