If you've taken Ambien how did you react to it?!
Question: I just started it and it after two days of not sleeping I found online that it can interact with one of my other meds to cause/increase agitation, anxiety and insomnia. I'm now all of those things on top of exhausted since I didn't sleep yesterday either.

I was wired. Not only could I not sleep, I couldn't even sit in one spot for very long. I took it two nights. Benedryl works better for me.

I've never taken it but I know people who have. It basically makes you like a zombie, you do things in your sleep like you're actually awake.
Both regular and CR Ambien did 100% nothing for me.
Ambien or the Ambien Cr didn't help me, I use Restoril or the generis Temezapam. It works much better. Speak to your Dr. about it. and have him switch you.
also if you have PTSD it can cause hallucinations anf flashbacks....
See if you can get some herbal remedy... you can check drug interactions there also...

My husband took it for awhile, and it just relaxed him, and made him sleep good.
This may be weird, but when I was on it I used 2 sleepwalk, and not remember a thing. One time I even woke up in the hospital! Crazy huh? My mom told me that I was sitting down reading the back of a Dorritos bag..LOL>..
My wife takes it and is out cold. It's a little scary to me because I'm sure she wouldn't wake up if there was an emergency such as a fire. I have sleep problems but I just endure them. I'm up all through the night and sometimes just can't stay awake during the day. It's a small price to pay for living longer.
I've heard horror stories about it but the people taking it were older people. They complained that it puts them in such a deep sleep that their families get worried and always have to check if they are breathing because their breath becomes shallow and I've heard of one elder person dieing from it.
Be careful talk to your doctor to see if these side effects are normal and how long they will last.
I took it for the first time in my life last night and I hallucinated for 45 minutes. It was a crazy experience. I felt like i was tripping but in a good way..and than i crashed. That was a crazy experience for me.. b/c it is so amazing how one little pill like that can mess with your body chemistry. the dr. told me not to take it again..
