Previously prescribed Zoloft...can I take it?!

Question: I was prescribed Zoloft during my pregnancy to prevent PPD. After I had my baby I was taken off...(since the depression came mostly from the stress of my baby's father and my relationship). Now my daughter is 6 months and I'm feeling the same symptoms of depression and more relationship problems. I still have the Zoloft...can I take it to get me through the depression or should I see the doctor again?

You should go see your doctor again because it is not safe or healthy to just start up a medicine that you have been off of without the doctor's consent because he/she knows exactly how many milligrams to start you up on and whether you need to be back on the medication or not. If you just start taking it without the dr's consent..you may take too much or too little of a dose without knowing it and it won't help you then or give you unwanted side effects. I am sure if your depression is returning your doctor will have you go back on the Zoloft...but otherwise..see the doc first..and ASAP.

I would not mess with no neds..I agree with you go to your doc.

Go to the doctor.

Im not a doctor however i do have allot of experience with medication and mental health. Zoloft is not really what we call "addictive" nor does it have allot of side effects esp since ou were on it once. If it would be me i might "risk" it I dont think any harm will come out of it, but it is always best to go to a MD
