Will a person getting treated for bipolar disorder get rejected a security clear!
Question: I must apply for a security clearance to get access to classfied information at my job. I work in the defense industry. Will my clearance get rejected because I am getting treated for bipolar disorder? The level of clearance I am getting is top secret/SSBI?

you need to be honest with the investigators. Tell them that you have this disorder and you are being treated for it. Honesty is the key to knowing that they can trust you to be with classified information. It is all up to the investigators in Washington to make the final decision. All you can do is be honest and wait. Sometimes it can take up to a year to get a clearance.
bipolar disorder is considered a "mental illness" . it will always be on your perminate health record. i know where i live you would not be able to get clearance or carry a weapon.
I don't think it is a problem.. I had a secret security clearance year's ago and new of people who were bipolar.. but may depend on how severe
