Look everyone of us has one OCD trait or another. Some of us are picky beyond belief. So he needs to check his stuff - instead of hurrying him, try telling him a few minutes ahead of time so he can go and get his stuff together. Tell him he has time to do it and then it will be bedtime. The less fuss made over it the better for him.

However if it continues to get worse - he starts to be unable to complete simple tasks due to having a OCD episode then he would need to get some help. Start with his pediatrician or general practitioner.

could be ocd or something, or it could be nothing, just a faze

Depends on his age, some kids go through phases and it will pass. Has his toys, stuff, ever been taken away or damaged some how. Maybe he thinks it will happen again or is someone bulling him about his toys.

The doc's would use the term "obsessive compulsive"
I think it's pure genius.
Always good to check your inventory!
Don't let him know you think he's crazy. Try to pretend it's normal... at least until he begins counting to certain numbers to do a simple task like close the door... three times...

He has probably had something taken or lost that was very very precious to him once. To keep this from happening he wants to make sure he never loses something again. What he lost long ago could be a thing OR even a person dear to him.

my lil sis is like that too, i try to be kind and just not touch her stuff and respect her property i think they feel unsafe and so they try to have as much stuff to make them feel better, it's emotional, like they are stressed, talk to ur mom i dont think its good

He's insecure. He needs you to help him build his self-confidence.

you will no in time as he gets older

OCD maybe but if hes young its prob just something he likes to do for a bit and will forget all about it by tomorrow

He probably has something called OCD. If he does he's not afraid of losing things its just a sort of ritual he has to do to make himself comfortable.
