What's the least amount of sleep I need when I start graveyard?!

Question: In a couple of months, I'm graduating and moving to a new city. I want to find a job that I can work graveyard shifts only, because I'm a night owl and because they pay more. I'm planning on only working five nights a week. This presents two questions, actually:

Can someone list popular companies (like FedEx) that require graveyard shifts?

And what is the least amount of sleep my body would need?

I'm an eighteen-year-old female, with an average build, 5'1. I want to have plenty of time to swim, shop, work out, and have fun. It's my graduation summer!

Anything less than 7 hours of sleep is considered sleep deprivation, so at the very least try to get at least 7 hours of sleep.

Some companies that offer graveyard that I know of off the top of my head are:

Pepsico/Frito Lay
Coca-Cola
Most major grocery chains offer graveyard shifts to do stocking while the store is closed.
Any answering service
Hospitals
Many call centers for major cell phone companies such as Alltell, Verizon, etc.

8 Hours of sleep should be fine.

The amount of sleep you will require varies person by person...but I can tell you this, it can take from 6 to 12 months for your body to adjust to working the night shift. You may do fine in the initial few days or weeks, but the change in your sleep pattern will catch up with you and you will have fatigue, sleep disturbance, appetite changes, irritability etc..Be patient with yourself and get plenty of rest as you adjust! kjl

8-10 but wrkn nights isnt healthy an it l bite ya in the *** eventually
