Is your addiction driving you or are you driving it?!

Question: That is the very crux of an " Addiction" and the very reason it is called an " Addiction." Because at some point controll is completely lost. You no longer know if you are part of the addiction or is the addiction part of you. As you put it yourself, are you driving your addiction or is it driving you. This is probably two sides to the same equation, and both must be true for the addiction to exist. Otherwise, you'd be looking at a habit, which can easily be broken. An addiction is a habit that is deeply rooted in the individual that has positive feeling once satisfied, and negative withdrawals if denied. A habit don't really have all that associated with it. That is the difference as I can see it.
These are my thoughts on the entire issue right now. If you know you have an addiction then you do know you will need a very strong willpower to overcome the addiction, like I did, or you will need help to beat the addiction- like my brother did.
( Mine was alcohol & cigarettes while his was drugs).

By the way don't come down too hard on yourself. You are not the only one in this equation, as you have brought it all down to. You see, for this addiction to exist many other factors " Have To Exist." Most of these other factors are supplied by the closest people to you - the very persons that love you the most. They are enabling this addiction to persist, to blossom and grow, and to take root to begin with.
In breaking the addiction, all of you have to change what you do and learn to break the choices you all have always made in certain situations. You all must learn life coping skills without addiction. Watch a few episodes of " Intervention" on A&E Network, I think.

we are in charge of addicitons

If you were driving it it wouldn't be an addiction, when you learn to drive it then you will have beaten it

If I was driving "it" it wouldn't be an addiction. All addictions drive us.

If one is addicted, he can hardly 'drive his addiction' on his own.

Spiritual research indicates that 96% of the causes of addictions are due to ghosts (demons, devils, negative energies, etc.) or departed ancestors. The seeds of addictions are introduced in the womb itself by ghosts. Due to the spiritual nature of the cause of addictions, only spiritual remedies can successfully alleviate addiction.
