Ambien CR, sleepy the next day?!

Question: Hi. I've taken Ambien normal release 10 mgs for a few years under doctor supervision. We've decided to try 6.25 controlled release and I'm dead tired in the daytime. It's 3 pm and I'm practically falling asleep! Has anybody felt this?
Does it subside or should I call my doctor and switch back to regular dose?
Thanks!

For me personally, I've had problems with feeling tired during the day with it too. My insurance won't pay for me to take it regularly, but I can tell you that I had the same issue with Lunesta and it subsided about 5 days in.

Also, are you getting enough sleep? I noticed that if I took the Ambien, but got up before my body thought I should be waking up, I had harder time getting past the sleepies.

I would give it 7-10 days and if it stays an issue, definitely call your doctor to talk about it. No reason to stay miserable! :) Good luck!

I took myself of Ambien because of that reason. I really didn't like the. I've been through so many different sleeping pills and finally found one that I really liked. I take Clonazapam. I don't get any side effects from them either.

Common Ambien CR side effects may include daytime drowsiness, difficulty with coordination, dizziness, and headache. Most side effects are minor and do not require medical attention, but certain problems should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately, such as slurred speech, coordination problems, and suicidal thoughts. According to research studies, up to 3.5 percent of people taking Ambien CR stopped their medicine because of side effects.

the most common Ambien CR side effects include:

* Daytime drowsiness -- up to 15 percent of people
* Dizziness -- up to 12 percent of people
* Headache -- up to 19 percent of people.

Other Ambien CR side effects (occurring in more than 1 percent of patients) that occurred more often in the group taking Ambien CR included, but were not limited to:

* Constipation
* Difficulty with coordination
* Hallucinations
* Disorientation
* Anxiety
* Depression
* Binge eating
* Memory problems (see Ambien CR and Memory Problems)
* Spinning sensation (vertigo)
* Nausea
* Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) -- heartburn is the most common symptom
* Heart palpitations
* Fatigue
* Muscle pain

So it's normal.

Hope this Helps! :D
