86 lbs..i don't know what to do..?!

Question: I'm scared now. I don't understand..I'm 5 ft and 20 years old; Ive been trying to get better from anorexia for a few months now (by the power of God--because treatments dont work, therapy/psychologists dont work). And ive never been better spiritually or emotionally.I'm trying a new approch: working on moderation--never get too hungry, never get too full. Giving up control works in all other areas of my life, from obsessive planning and making lists to letting loose with academics (I dont have to be perfect if I dont get an A in every class) I eat more than i did before (from 300 cals/ day to approximately 600-1000/day). BUT I'M AT MY LOWEST WEIGHT!!

**does anyone have any suggestions, who know what they're talking about??? thanks guys.

Hi,

I know it may seem like anorexia is at its worst but it isnt. Your still hanging on,and soon you can be at a strong grip. I dont have anorexia but I do have anxiety and I know how you feel. Don't worry about how much your eating, thats not even what makes you gain weight. Just think about how healthy your eating. An unhealthy choice is okay every once in a while. Who doesn't eat junk sometimes? And I advise you to pray pray pray. It works for me and hopefully for you too.

just eat lots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now that you are eating more, your metabolism is getting faster.
It will take awhile- just get plenty of rest, keep eating more, keep stress out and enjoy yourself.

Even if you don't believe in other forms of treatment, it may be beneficial for you to see a doctor just to ask questions. There's no doubt that God will get you thought this, but you have serious questions that a doctor would be best heloing you with. Don't ask them for help- just ask them for the facts.

Good luck.

"treatments dont work, therapy/psychologists dont work"

I would question that.

Perhaps you simply haven't found the right treatment.

I have a friend that was anorexic - she only got better because she worked with a nutritionist and she has managed to come up to 120 lbs and stay there for 6 years (she's 5' as well)

If you are exercising as well as eating more, I would question whether;

a) you're adding muscle mass, which would tend to burn off the extra calories you're eating or

b) Eating too much in the way of protein and not enough fat.

One thing that worked for my friend was to snack between meals - it keeps your glucose index up and it packs aw3ay extra calories as well. I've also seen that work with a nephew that was just very thin (not anorexic). It seems that eating is, for some people, a habit that they have to acquire.

If you're not doing that, I would suggest it.

If you are doing that, I would suggest it more often.

eat a LOT of molts or w.e they call it chocolate molts at least 1 a day the scale is gonan be adding up!

motivation. you need to realize that you are ahurting others and we all want to help ypu live a good happy life. head up

your body was abused for a long period of time, now you are giving it what it needs (food) and it will take awhile for your metabolism to even out. Just keep an eye on it and don't stress out over it because we know that stress triggers attacks.

I think you need to get your calorie intake above 2000.Try stuff like yogurt, bagels. The easiest way would be to eat at McDonalds a lot,but I know thats not very healthy, but if your desperate to gain weight that will do it

I just wanted to let you know, keep your head up girl! I've been battling anorexia myself and have just started to increase my caloric intake. I too feel weak, disoriented, and just not myself but I'm sure it'll get better with time. Keep your stress level down, learn to love your body at w/e wgt it is, and be sure to take vitamins!

Anorexia is addressed in section 44, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Adopt a high nutrient and energy density eating plan, as in sections 22 - 25 Eat 6 -8 small meals daily, so, after a couple of hours, your stomach has emptied, and you are capable of ingesting more, without stuffing yourself. The very fact that you are still counting calories, and weighing yourself, shows that you still have a need for control, in this area. You need a minimum of 1800 calories, and preferably 2100+ in the medium term, to attain a reasonable weight, which should always range between the lower, and upper healthy weights for your height. Consult your doctor, to find out what they should be, and I suggest only finding out your weight there, once fortnightly, and then monthly, until you have reached an acceptable level, otherwise you will continue in the obsess/control mode.
