Has any one evr heard of a psycho surgery procedure called mutifocal leucocoagul!
Question: My mother had this surgery in the 1960's in England as an alternative to frontal lobectomy to treat severe anxiety.
It involved removal of the top of the skull, and the insertion of gold wires directly into the brain. The idea was that over several months, via an external fuse style box, an electric current was delivered directly to the brain to kill off cells that were related to the anxiety.
My mother stopped having panic attacks, blackouts and attempting suicide, but her personality changed.
I've asked a few people, but no one seems to have heard of this type of surgery before and there is very little information on the net.
My mother died about fifteen years ago.
