Does my husband have a mental disorder?!

Question: My husband is generally a very loving and caring guy and does not do anything crazy ever. He just has a VERY low threshold for frustration. When the slightest thing is bothering him, he is impossible to be around. He blows up at video games, the dog, doors, cabinets, food, and many other things. He rarely does it at people, although he can sometimes say things that are irrational and unfair. He'll usually separate himself completely and he says he "pushes people away." The strangest thing is his yelling is usually peripheral to the problem that is causing it. If he is stressed out at work, he'll yell about the house being messy and stuff like that. He won't even talk about the work stuff. Could he have some sort of mental disorder that needs medication? How can I help him cope with day to day life?

Answers: No, he doesn't sound like he has a mental disorder. It seems like he just has a hard time dealing with frustration and anger. If he's willing to talk to a counselor that would be your best bet. If he isn't willing to see a counselor, sit him down and let him know how you feel.
