Go to a cheap store, like Walgreens or WalMart, and buy yourself an air purifier!. The air purifier will make a humming noise, like an air conditioner or a fan, sometimes referred to as "white noise", and it will block out family noise as well as other noises (traffic and other inside and outside noises)!. I have had one for almost 15 years now and have never been disturbed out of sleeping by someone else's noise since then!Www@Answer-Health@Com

listen to music, or earplugs lol!.
or theres always complaining, i mean, theyre your family, what are they gonna do slap you!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

if only i could find a way!.

the best advice i can give is get an oscillating fan and turn it on high!. it blocks out a little or at least muffles it!.

they also make ear plugs, you can buy them at the drug store (the kind that are squishy and fit inside your ears) alot of people use them on airplane trips!. but, i don't like the feeling of having them in my ears!. it's an idea, though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all comes down to focusing!. Listen to some music or something to divert your attention!. It's amazing what you can miss when you are involved in something else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's not the noise that is keeping you awake! you need to find a way to get to fall asleep better!. your only distracted from the noiseWww@Answer-Health@Com

I learned this trick when I was pregnant!. My son LOVED to move around at night and that on top of all the pains of pregnancy made it impossible to sleep!. My husband would do "guided meditation" with me where he would help me envision a balloon in my stomach inflating and deflating with each inhale and exhale of my breath!. It sounds kinda new age and funky but it worked EVERY SINGLE TIME like a charm! Just lay there with your eyes closed and concentrate on relaxing every single muscle in your body!. Then picture a balloon and just imagine it inflating when you inhale and deflating when you exhale!. Just concentrate on that balloon and eventually, you'll be asleep!.

I really hope this helps! I know how frustrating it can be to lose sleep!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know what you mean!. I've always hated noise!. Try to get an ipod - or if you can't afford it - go to Radio Shack and for a few dollars you can buy a miniature AM FM radio with earplugs!. Listen to some classical music or something like smooth jazz!. If that doesn't work - go to the drugstore and buy yourself some soft silicone earplugs!. I use them all the time and they really block out all noise!. Just make sure you put them in nice and snug!. Noise, when you are trying to sleep, is the worst!. Believe me, the above suggestions will help!. But, I would also talk to your family and tell them how much the noise is affecting you!. Good luck, darling!. Sweet dreams!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wear ear plugs!. Also there are machines that make white noise which can help block out other noise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh i know how you feel!. my living room and kitchen are like right next to each other and its all open and like every other night i am trying to watch tv and my mom and her friends sit there and play yahtzee until like 2 in the morning!. so all i hear is dice rattling!.its the most annoying thing in the world but you just can't focus on the noise!. i know its really hard but the more you think about it the more it bugs you!. i just try ignore it and after a while your mind kinda blocks the other noise out!. if all else fails!. just get some hear plugs or you could even hang up sound board on your door!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

See sleep disorders, in section 3, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris Some suggestions are: (1) Use Bose noise cancelling headphones, or noise cancelling earphones!. (2) Use regular earplugs, together with!.!.!. (3) Tune a radio off station, producing white noise, and turn up the volume, to drown out background noise, or (4) Have a radio on talkback, or (5) Put an electric fan on a high setting, not necessarily directed at you!. (The following is a variant of EMDR therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety: it is easily learned, quick to use, yet can be very effective)!. In bed, lie back comfortably, and take a deep breath!. Then, without moving your head, move your eyes from the left, to the right, and back again, taking around a second to do so (say: a thousand and one: this takes approximately a second)!. Repeat this procedure (without the words, although you can count, subvocally if you like) 20 times!. Then close your eyes and relax!. Become aware of any tension or discomfort you feel!.

Then open your eyes, and take another deep breath, and repeat step one, closing your eyes, and relaxing afterwards, in the same manner!. Then, repeat the procedure one last time!. Some people may find that this is all they need do!. You can learn to do this in the dark, before sleep!. Try it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
